Dine with Shamu v Shamu Rocks

Help please! We can't afford both, so which one should we choose....?

Depends what you want....the food/service is basically the same.

At Dine with Shamu you get about half an hour of a talk from the trainer showing you the different tricks Shamu can do. They then hang around afterwards and answer questions.

Shamu Rocks is generally a later meal with a sitting before the Shamu Rocks evening show. You don't get a talk from the trainer but when we were there in March they had up to 4 whales just swimming and jumping in the pool next to us whilst the trainers watched them (presume this is just the 'freetime' the whales are allowed). We were then escorted through to reserved seating in the stadium so didn't have to get there half an hour/45mins in advance and wait. We were allowed to take unfinished drinks etc through with us as well which was good.

Not sure which one I preferred, but possibly Shamu Rocks as we still got the behind the scenes look at the whales but weren't 'distracted' from eating by the talk. Getting the reserved seats was great as well as it saved any waiting around. One word of warning though, i've heard others say that they didn't see any whales whilst eating at Shamu Rocks so what we experienced may not be the 'norm'. HTH!

We have done dine with shamu twice now and this year are trying the shamu rocks dinner buffet. Loved dine with shamu, and would do it again as in my opinion its a good price,the food is good and lots for everyone in our party. Hope shamu rocks is just as good.

We have done Dine with Shamu and loved it. Will be doing it again next time.
