We have decided to arrange a 'swim with dolphins' as a surprise for our DD (9) in October, but I have just noticed that there is a 2 day excursion to the Keys that includes a dolphin swim for the same price as Discovery Cove! :confused2

On paper, the Miami trip seems incredibly good value for money as it includes an overnight stay, dolphim swim, airboat ride, alligator show and shopping in Miami - wow!

Any Dibbers been on the Miami excursion? If so, would love to hear your comments.

Thanks in advance! :thumb:

Hi Lynda,

I wonder if you could tell me where you saw the trip as I have a friend that would like to do something like that but does not fancy the drive to the Keys.

I have seen the Keys dolphin swim reviewed at http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=167572&highlight=Keys+%2B+Dolphin+swim (http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=167572&highlight=Keys+%2B+Dolphin+swim) hope that helps.

Thanks for the link. :thumb:

I spotted it on the Virgin Holidays website:

and it's also on the Attraction Tickets Direct website:

Still can't believe what fantastic value this is when compared to Discovery Cove - the reviews are excellent too!

Hi

We swam with the dolphins in the Keys.. at the Dolphin Research Center... and loved it!! I would recommend it to anyone.
You actually swim in natural coves and the money you pay, goes back to ensure more dolphins and manatees are looked after!

we went on the keys trip in 2003, the operator was international divers but i can't remember where we got tickets from. there was an early morning pick up which got us to key largo just about lunch time. had time to get checked in to resort and use beach/pool, before heading off to dolphin rescue centre. be warned the water is cold and deep. inthe evening there was a bq on the resort's beach. next morning early start again. first visit of the day was to an alligator farm where we were treated to an alligator handling demo (awesome the handler had arms like tree trunks, he was huge) also an airboat ride and tour, ther was also time to wander round the farm aswell. then it was off to miami for four hours or so, then returned to orlando by about 8pm local. all the travel was on a air conditioned bus. would certainly consider this trip again if time would allow. hope this has helped enjoy:cool2:

Thanks! All booked now. £134 per adult & £114 per child. We think it's a fantastic price for what is included.
