View Full Version : Start date for Disney passes
I'm about to order 21 day passes and I've just noticed that its asking for a start date & time.
How much do you think this matters?
What I mean is, is your ticket not valid for 21 days from when you first activate/use it?
Thanks for any help!

Hi. The Disney Ultimate tickets have to be booked for the year that you are using them and all tickets must be activated by the 31st December of the year that they are valid.
Therefore if the ticket company you are buying from asks for a start date, it is usually so they can prioritise sending the tickets out to customers. i.e. if you are traveling in the next 2 weeks they will know you need to have them urgently.
I usually give them a start date of a month earlier than I am actually going to travel so that they will have to get them to me before the panic sets in.
Disney doesn't care when you use your ticket. Even if you activate a 2008 ticket on 31st December you can still use its valid days (14 or 21) into January 2009. But you couldn't activate a 2008 ticket for first use on 1st January 2009 as it would have expired.
OK thanks Essexmate.
I was maybe thinking about it in too much detail!
I arrive late Sunday afternoon. Should I make the start date the next day or make it the Sunday in case I use it that night. It always states 9am.

Your first assumption was correct, it's 21 days from activation.
As essexmate says, give them an earlier date well before you travel as it makes no difference to Disney other than the end of year.
OK thanks Essexmate.

I can only tell you what we do. Tell the ticket company a date , as suggested above, some time before you are due to arrive.
We never go to a park on the day we arrive as its late in the day, we are tired (remember it will be by your body clock 5 hours later than Florida time e.g. 18:00 will feel like 23:00), and why waste a days use for a couple of hours?
