View Full Version : ADRs for DLP and any other must dos?
:D
Have booked Plaza Gardens Tea Party for 25th August at 3:30pm.
We did Cafe Mickey and Rainforest Cafe last yr, so wanted to try something different.
Anyone got any other ideas or must do's?
We have just noticed that there is a 20% off voucher in the back of the Brit Guide 2008 for Planet Hollywood so will be giving that a go.
I really want to watch the Lion King show, as we missed it last year. Anyone know of any sure fire ways of getting tickets?
And The Winnie The Pooh stage, any advice on this too?
I know its still ages away, but i'm getting very excited!

I can recommend the Buffalo Bills Wild West Show. My boys loved it and we did too. It was a great night.:thumbs-up
I don't want to speak out of turn but we really didn't like Planet Hollywood. The food really wasn't great and we had a very long wait to be seated. DH's ribs arrived at the table stone cold and so had to be returned. It is also extremely cramped in there. I couldn't get out of my seat properly as my chair was hitting the person on the next table.
It really wasn't a good experience.:(
We really enjoy Annettes Diner though. They also have a take out window if you just want to grab something to take back to your hotel.:thumbs-up
We have also enjoyed Cafe Mickey and Rainforest Cafe and the Plaza Gardens Tea Party is fab, you will enjoy that one.:thumbs-up
I thought about putting FAO Leanne in brackets as I just knew you'd come to my aide! LOL
I think I spoke to you before about Buffalo Bills and that is something we are thinking of doing.
Annette's sounds good, will try that one out.
Did you get to see the Lion King show?
Just thought of something else I wanted to ask...
Did you book your character breakfast before you go, or when you get to the hotel?

We booked Cafe Mickeys before we went. I can't remember exactly how far in advance but I think it might have been 60 days.
When we arrived at the Cheyenne they offered us a Fantasyland breakfast in place of one of our hotel breakfasts. We took that and it was at Plaza Gardens. It was lovely and quiet in there and the food was fresher than that served at the hotel, so I would recommend you doing it.:thumbs-up
We kept missing the time for the English Lion King Show. We just so happened to be walking past and everyone was going in so we joined the queue but it was full before we got to the front.
So we went into the restaurant that is in the same place as the show, grabbed some food and watched it from there which was fine. It was a lovely show.:thumbs-up
Great! Will take the Fantasyland brekkie if it's offered.
Thanks so much for your help. I think we'll try and time lunch for when the Lion King is on and watch it from Cafe Hyperion. With a 3 yr old, it may be the better option.
Thanks again, you're a star!

Hiya
I would definately book the fantasyland breakfast...in the past we have had ours in the Chalet du Marionette within the park an hour before park opening.
We had a similar experience with Planet Hollywood.....our Burgers were almost raw :( and were sent back 3 times - we have been twice on two separate visits and it was the same.
The Blue Lagoon restaurant within POTC was good, great themeing.
We are hoping to try Auberge de Cendrillion on our next visit to see the princesses :)
The Plaza Gardens is our MOST fav character place  it was DDs 1st ever character meal and still the best IMO anyway.
On our last visit in mar 2007 we booked everything in advance and it was so nice to know it was all booked as it was so busy when we got there, we booked a couple of meals for restaurants in the park at the same time as park closing so we could be one of the last people to leave the park......it was lovely to see the castle in the dark without the crowds.

hi there
just to echo other thoughts
never will i go to planet hollywood very poor quality and i was ill not long after my chicken cesar salad !!!!!
we love the lucky nugget charecter meal and enjoyed the quality of the food
we have been 4 times and go here every time
happy hols
Gosh, I think we better cross Planet Hollywood of our list then!
Can't believe so many people have had probs there.
We did love the Rainforest Cafe, so maybe we'll be going back there one night.
The best meal we had there, was at Bussy St Georges - a little cafe-bar outside the train station that sold pizza etc. Was stunning pizza for a 1/4 of the cost of Disney! Something like 7euros for a huge pizza!
How did you manage to book ADR's more than 60 days before you go?
I thought 60 days were the earliest you could book.
I just rang them and they booked it for me??? Hope the CM wasn't new or anything! We booked for 25th Aug at 3:30pm. Didn't pay a deposit, she said just turn up on day.

Auberge de Cendrillion is great one of our favourite but it is pricey and also it is quite a fussy menu not nuggets and chips for kids or anything. My kids liked the pasta. Because it costs more you seem to get more time with the princesses. We have seen Arial and prince eric, Cinderella, snow white and Belle.
Walts on main street is nice a good view of parades if you time it right.
We missed out Walts last year. Maybe we'll try that this year.
I asked DD whether she wanted tea with Mickey/Minnie or Princesses. She said Minnie.
So no Princess meal for us this yr!
