It's a town built and owned by Disney (actually I think they no longer own it). It's just off the 192, it's quite a pretty place but some people find it a little too perfect and 'stepford wives' ish

It was disneys go at social engineering a few years ago, it is supposed to represent old time us, sort of 1950's, picket fences type of thing. I had seen a tv program about brits who had started a shop there and always wanted to visit. This feb I finally got to go thanks to a rejig of the I4 junction that the satnav wasn't aware of, and the presidents day traffic. Yes it is stepford wife ish, pleasantville type of place but lovely. Walked round the lake in the sunshine and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, nice little shops, individual types apart from starbucks, could have spent a fortune in downeast and the bookshop! Looking at staying in the hotel if we go again (what do I mean WHEN we go again!!)

It is great for an afternoon out and other dibbers have written great things about christmas and halloween events.

pm me if you want a link to our photos.

Our place is only about 10-15 mins from Celebration.. and we always go when we're over.

They have loads of events.. at Christmas there was one of the stars from High School Musical...
Then when we were over a couple of weeks ago.. there was the
Disney 70% off sale held in the school gym, the Pie festival and also a big car exhibition. Had we not been playing golf that day, we would have gone to the special showing of Back to the Future at the cinema.. where 'Doc', Biff, and Jennifer were all there to answer questions...

Its a great place... to visit.
Just keep an eye on the special events.

Hi Cheyenne

All depends on what's on! If there is nothing on, you can just stroll around the main town/ lake area. You can eat at one of the restaurants or take in a movie.. but if there is something on, you might want to spend a little more time there! Do you have a date you want to visit?

I'd definitely go just to make your own mind up - it's certainly not ghastly in any way. Everyone is really friendly and we always spot loads of wildlife - it's great. Eastlawn Drive area has some of the smartest pads I've ever seen in my life - they're AMAZING. Grab an ice cream from Kilwin's just down from the cinema and take a stroll about or sit in one of the rocking chairs overlooking the lake. But the best houses are around the back of the main lake and over the little bridges - wow. Too perfect?! Beats living here! :spin:
