Hi all
As part of our hols we are going to spend the day at Clearwater. We will be there from about 09:30 until late and we were wondering if people have any suggestions on where to go/which beach is best.
We are a mixed bunch, five people from 11 years to 65 years and like looking around harbours at the boats, sitting in beach side cafe's watching the world go buy and getting in the sea having fun (Making me wish I was there now  ) Went on the oficcial clearwater site but wanted to know peoples opinions on where to go and not go.
Any help as always very much appriciated.

We went to Clearwater for the day, 2 weeks ago, we meet up with friends also staying in Orlando, there were 17 of us, mostly children but we had a fantastic day. If you want to go to the beach next to pier 60 the cabanna costs $18 a day, 2 chairs and an umbrella, you can all go in the sea etc or just walk along the beach. They are doing alot of building work at the far end of Clearwater so the best place for resturants are around the harbour area, and don't forget the sunsets, they are beautiful from Clearwater, also Pier 60 has entertainment and stall in the evening from 5.30, or just take a walk along the pier and watch people fishing or the occasional dolphin out to sea.
Hope you dont mind me jumping on this thread but what is the parking like in Clearwater? is it expensive?
thanks

Have you considered doing the Sea Screamer (http://www.seascreamer.com/boat_rides_clearwater1.htm) or Real Thriller (http://www.realthriller.com/)? Several Dibbers have done this and it has always gotten great reviews. You can find some video footage on You Tube if you want to have a look.

I heard some one say you can hire rakes for the sand and look for shark teeth, was that at clearwater, or am I mixing htis up with somewhere else? :confused2

We went on the seascreamer when we visited Clearwater in 2004 - it was absolutely brilliant. The photos we have of the dolphins following the boat are amazing.
I would highly recommend it. :wavey:
We loved Clearwater - I'm sure you will too. Have a great trip! :wavey:

Hi all
Thanks all for the comments. I like the sound of pier 60, Stedman 5, sounds exactly what we are looking for. As for the Screamer, well it looks like a right em Scream.
Really looking forward to going now

My boyfriend and I went to Clearwater for the day - it's great! We went on Thriller and it felt more personal than Sea Screamer - VERY comfortable seats - even when your ripping over the waves and seeing the baby dolphins jumping alongside us was just beautiful :D
We like just to have a wander about, see the fishermen bring in their catch and feed the pelicans too - they're so cute and patient - not like our greedy gulls!
Have a great time. :wavey:

The parking for the day was $10, there were 3 car parks, we arrived at 11am it was a Sunday so they filled up very quickly, but if you get there early you shouldn't have a problem. Forgot to say you can also go on a Dolphin Encounter boat from the harbour, which we did when we last visited 10 years ago.
