Fantasmic Package - Hollywood & Vine or Mama Melrose?

Just planning our ADR's (want to get them booked by the end of the week)

We always do the Fantasmic Package and have always done Hollywood & Vine - which is only OK ..... I view it as a 'means to and ends' to get half decent seats at Fantasmic, iyswim

However, I notice Mama Melrose also does it, anyone got any opinions on it?

The last time we went we also did Hollywood and Vine and again found it to be just "OK." I have looked at the Mama Melrose menu but it doesn't appeal to all of our party. I think that only leaves The Brown Derby which means we would have to go back and change because it seems to be a bit "posher" and I'm in two minds as to whether we should do it or not.

I have only done Hollywood and Vine for this - the first time it was great and we loved it. The second it was not so great - but I'm putting that down to the fact it was Xmas Eve and there was a reduced menu and the ice cream bit was not open.
Mama Melrose gets a lot of bad reviews (from some trusted Dibbers).
Brown Derby does get good reviews, but I cannot seem to find anything on the menu I would order and it is a lot more expensive than the other two.
I think there is something for everyone in my party at Hollywood and Vine and have booked it again for our September trip.

We did the H&V last October and I personally thought it was just ok. It was certainly nothing special.

I'll definitely be trying something different next time so my advice would be to go to Mama Melrose.

I have booked Hollywood and Vine for our Package and no seem a bit worried but as we have not been to any restaurants on site before I cant compare ....hopefully in September it will be excellent !!

We have done Hollywood and Vine and thought it was ok. I don't feel the need to go back. We preferred the character lunch there to dinner.
I haven't been to Mama Melrose as the poor reviews put me off.

I'm just a little concerned that you are going in Aug and have yet to make your ADR's. A lot of people have free dining in Aug and would have made their ADRs at 180 days. I hope you don't have a problem getting what you want.:wave:

We ate at mama melrose's last trip and abosolutely loved it! It was one of my favourites of the trip as the food was delicious and having the fantasmic package made it even better!

Would definately reccomend it!:D

I tried to book Mama Melrose for October this morning & it is already fully booked for the day I wanted. I had to settle for H&V which was our close second choice anyway.

I'd call them up & see what they have!

In our experience Mama Melrose was really good, Brown Derby overpriced, the most expensive and the worst meal of the holiday

We did h&v a couple of years ago and we were not that impressed to be honest - a mediocre buffet!!!!!

I know what you mean but we are there for 3 weeks and apart from 3 nights at Vero beach I am VERY EASY ;) with my dates, so fingers crossed :D
