Hi,

We are planning our first trip to Vegas in October. DH isn't keen on flying and would prefer not to change planes - BUT he also likes Premium Economy. I have looked at BMI but the PE prices are horrific- are there ever bargains to be had or is £2000+ standard? Even economy seems pretty high.
So, may opt to go Virgin out of London....and wondered if actually this might be better....we are planning a 10 day trip, and I can't imagine that we actually want more than 4 or 5 days in Vegas. So if we flew into LA or SF (both of which we have been to before) I am thinking that we could road trip to Vegas, has anyone done this?

Any advice appreciated.

Why not fly to SF, stay four nights, drive down Highway 1, stay overnight at somewhere like San Luis Obispo, and the drive onto LV, stay five nights and the fly back from LV?

Sam,

not sure if this is true, but may be worth speaking to BMI. I was told that the prices on the internet are affected by the amount of traffic on the site ans searches for particular flights.

I got married in vegas last sept we paid £450 for direct economy flights from Manchester with BMI. My parents flew out and spent £1800 on business class with BMI. At the time of booking the business class flights were over £5k each on the site.

Worth a try anyway ....

We flew with BMI from Manchester last June and got quite a good deal through Expedia. We had a week at Treasure Island and with flights it was £704 each, although this was economy. I know when I priced up the same holiday direct with BMI and the hotel it was coming in slightly dearer..........

Even though we booked economy, we made sure we got to manchester airport quite early, and when we checked in we managed to get extra legroom / bulkhead seats.

This was fantastic and I have to say I thought the flight was even better than the Virgin PE (in the bubble) to Orlando the year before.

The crew were wonderful, the entertainment good and the food excellent.

Thanks for the responses - sounds like it is worth me checking out BMI a bit further and then once I know where I'm flying in and out of I can plan the route.

More questions to follow later......
