Hi

is Discovery cove worth the price? We would like to go to Aquatica so would save the price of the ticket there. Im not too keen on doing the dolphin swim as have done that before and think its quite a lot of money to be spending but you cant do the other one online (if you phone do you still get the 10% off for booking early?)

many thanks

I have mixed views. I have done it and we enjoyed the day, but when I consider how much we paid for it we could have used the money elsewhere and had a good time too. For me, the highlight was the dolphin swim, so if I wasn't doing that then I would say save your money and treat yourself somewhere else.

We've been for the non-dolphin swim and regretted it, so we've booked for the swim this year - can't wait :jump::jump:

been twice 1st time with Dolphin 2nd non dolphin. Personally I prefer fish lagoon and avairy so wouldn't do Dolphin again but DW has a fish phobia and loves dolphins. All 3 of us love the park.
We are AP holders at SeaWorld so get discount, 1st time we only paid £75 each, got $100 off pp

We have our third day here booked this August. For me, it is the favourite day of the holiday but I couldn't go and not do the dolphin swim.

We have been 4 times in the last year - twice with the dolphin swim and twice without!
I absolutely love it - it is pure paradise on earth to me, I love the aviary, the coral reef, ray lagoon, tropical river and food and drink! If it was a one-off visit I would have to do the dolphin swim but can have just as good day without it :) xx

Depending on time of year you go it can be worth buying AP for Seaworld. The first time we went was Oct, AP cost us $139 for 2 years and we got $100 off DC. with free parking and discounts it was like getting out AP free for 2 years. 2nd time we went was August, peak time so only $30 off.
Peak time you need to book months in advance, you can look on their site to see when dates a filling up, get in when some of you dates are dissapearing.

Another vote for DC ;)

Absolutely loved it, but I think at least 1 person has to have the swim. When I looked online with DC they wouldn't let you book all non swimmers :erm:

I agree! We did DC last year, and are doing it again this year.

Last year DW wasn't too sure about the swim but did it anyway and really enjoyed it:spin:

I don't think I'd like to spend that sort of money without doing the dolphin swim.

One person does not have to do the swim - we have done this twice without the dolphin swim in the last year - all you have to do is ring them to book :)

Did Dc last year and it was brilliant. We are going to Florida next year and was cosidering doing DC again but as a non-swim along with Seaworld,Busch Gardens and Aquatica included in the cost and it has worked out at about £55 cheaper than having everything along with a swim so it really depends on your budget and needs.Personally we are now looking at doing the swim along with everything else. There are a avriety of packages available so just keep browsing

We have recently done Discovery Cove, it was fabulous. Will certainly go back and do it with or without the swim next time.

We're doing DC for the first time this year. Yes, it's expensive, but we opted for the Busch, Sea World and Aquatica package, and it didn't seem so bad then.

DH is busy doing swimming lessons so he can enjoy the swim too, without panicking.

Can't wait - I have wanted to do this for years

We are definetly doing DC next year. Not doing the Dolphin Swim, as we did that last year. Going to spend more time chilling and swimming with the rays.

As has been said before if you go for the ultimate package you get 14 day ticket to BG, SW and Aquatica included which for the 4 of us was similar in price to the Disney 14 day ticket. It aint cheap but if you look at it that way suddenly it doesn't seem so bad. Well that's what I have been telling myself.

Another factor which hasn't been covered is that we are going to Forida at the end of July/beginning of August and from what I have read its going to be very busy in the parks. As the numbers are limited I see Discovery Cove as an opportunity for a rest, a bit of a haven in all of the park madness.

Hi Wayneg
I tried phoning Discovery Cove to ask what discount I would get in October if I was a Seaworld AP holder and the lady advised that it was only $30. Any idea when you are likely to get the $100 discount?

We did DC 2 years ago and have booked again for this year. It's a great relaxing day and when you factor in the food they provide and access to other parks depending on your ticket it doesn't seem so expensive. We have got ultimate tickets that include access to sea World, Busch Gardens & Aquitica. With regards to the dolphin swim it is really more of an interaction as you don't realy swim with dolphins. The only time you are 'swimming' is at the end when they pull you back towards shoe. But still a great experince getting so close to them.

Maybe they have stopped offering the $100 discount, it was about 3 years ago. It might be popular enough without discounting so much now. I know we didn't book until just before we flew, might have been a special last minute deal.

Discovery Cove is out of this world. We loved everything about it and will go back hopefully next year when we go again.
