Hi again guys 'n' dolls, I'm off to Orlando in August. One of my 2 children is disabled and I've already pre booked a cabana at Aquatica . My question is has anyone hired one themselves on here and where would you say is the best place in Aquatica to hire your cabana? I believe they are doted around in various placed in the water park. I would like one near the childrens play sections for my eldest child but also somewhere that is accessable for a pushchair/wheelchair for the little one. Is the beach area near the 2 wave pools and Kookaburra cove a good spot??

Any help on this matter greatly appreciated !!
If there's any more information regarding Aquatica that anyone thinks is relevent please let me know!

Mark.

Hi. I have one booked but don't go until July. A dibber has posted on here that they were in the Yallingud Cabanas and this was the best area. However, I did send an email to Aquatica to ask if I could reserve a cabana in this area but they said they were allocated on a first come first served basis. The other cabanas were apparently not so private or well positioned. Aquatica may have addressed some of these issues by the time we get there. I would imagine the whole park is wheelchair accessible but you may have to contact aquatica direct with specific questions.

Maybe I'll see you there then as we have also booked a cabanna in July :wavey:

Why don't you email them and point out that one of your party is disabled and you would specifically like to select a cabanna to take account of that. The American laws on disability discrimination are very tough and I suspect they would bend over backward to help you.

Also don't forget that those who have booked a cabanna enter from a different gate and don't need to queue with everyone else.

Ive always been very Impressed with how well the parks cater for the needs of disabled guests, we could learn a lot from them in this country!
Even Discovery Cove has special wheelchairs and access ramps into some of the pool area's so that everyone can experience the fun of being in the water with the fish.
E-mail them if you have any concerns and Im sure they will be very helpfull.

We visited Aquatica with our DS who's a wheelchair user shortly after it opened in March. The park is very wheelchair friendly, all nice smooth pathways and gradual gradients, the beach area also has a concrete pathway around it and down to the wave pools so you don't have to push a wheelchair on the sand. We didn't have any accessibility issues there, as far as I remember all the cabanas were accessible but those beside the beach area and kids area would be ideal for you.
