does anyone know - if i buy a multi-region dvd player is that me good to go in terms of watching us dvds...does my tv have to state that itscompatible or anything

:wave:Hi we have a multi regional dvd player and it plays US dvds no problem, we didnt need to do anything to TV just connected dvd player up as normal so you should be okay:wave::pd

Your tv will need to be NTSC compatable as well as PAL. Not quite sure what it all means (somthing to do with the number of lines in the picture). Most tv's are though.

As already said, should be no probs with it, just plug and play!!

You may be able to make your current DVD player multi region.
There are many websites which tell you how to use your remote control to make it region free.
DH has made our Samsung and Panasonic DVD players region free. There are some players which cant be unlocked easliy (Sony).
All you need to know is the make and model number.
If you post it here I will see if I can find the way to do make it region free.
