We are going to Seaworld for the first time this year and would appreciate any guidance on what to see and what to avoid.

We have allocated one day from our itinery for this park as we are going to Discovery Cove and get the admission to Seaworld thrown in. Is one day going to be sufficient? We are a party of 4 - Me, DW & 2DD's (late teens).

Thanks

I think you would be rushing to see it all, there are 3 shows that are not to be missed. Then there are the animal attractions, feeding the dolphins, and the rides. You might not get to do it all. We go 2 or 3 times within a 14 day holiday.

We absolutely love seaworld and would reccommend 2 days to see the shows, Shamu and the gang Believe is not to be missed and I say go for the soak zone after all how often do you get to say I got soaked by a killer whale, the rides prepare to be soaked but dont miss journey to atlantis, and kraken and shamu ride, also the hospitality for a free glass of bud and loads more:cool2:

Go and see the Clyde & Seymour show but get there early to see the warm up mime artist - he's a hoot - funniest thing I've seen in ages!

We normally go 2-3 times too. We love everything about it. Maybe you should try and buy another day ticket there!! xx

We only managed a day in there but hardly saw anything. We really did need a second day but just ran out of time.

Seaworld is one of our favourite places. You can but a one day ticket and it gives you a second day free. You must upgrade at Guest services first before you leave the park at the end of your visit. We bought this ticket from theme park tickets.com. I hope you have a great time. We are visiting Aug 2008 also and seaworld is the first on our agenda.:grin:

Exchange your day ticket for the Funcard and you can go back as many times as you like during your stay, its the same price as a one day ticket, i think you can upgrade it at guest services, might be worth giving Seaworld a call.
we usually go 3 or sometimes even 4 during our stay, funny thing is ,everytime we go to Seaworld we get a soaking ,and its not from Shamu. We always get caught in thunder storms.

I must be an exception - I've never been more than once per holiday in each of 10 or 11 visits now.

I do struggle with the whole captivity angle of it though.

I LOVE Seaworld, and could happily spend days on end just watching all of the beautiful animals.........we usually visit twice in a 2-week stay :)

DONT miss: Believe, Blue Horizons, Pets Ahoy, Clyde and Seymour (especially the evening showing) and also Shamu Rocks if is on during your stay x

Seaworld is excellent and it can be done in one day - as long as you are prepared for a very long day - last time we did it in one day we arrived at 9am and left the park at about 10.30pm or so!! needless to say we didn't do a lot the next day. Would recommend 2 days if you can spare it. As has already been mentioned the shows are fantastic and well worth seeing. loved feeding the dolphins and rays as well.

I love Seaworld its my fav park. We usually always do this on our 1st day and unwind and then return later on in the hols to a quicker visit with our 2nd day free return.

I think you need at least one full day and one half day arrriving mid-afternoon and staying until closing. The shows are different at night and the closing illuminations are not to be missed.

As others have said you won't manage it all in one day without rushing around and part of seaworld's charm is to stop and enjoy the details. Try and get hold of a park map before you go and pick some of the shows that you want to see then use the rest of the time to take in all the attractions. Our top 3 shows would be

Shamu
Pet's Ahoy
Clyde & Seymour (be sure to see the evening one as well if you are still in the park when it's on)

One day's more than enough I reckon, just make sure not to miss the big areas of the park like Kraken, Journey to Atlantis, and the bigger shows.

To echo an above post. If you go to the Clyde ans Seymour show get there early enough to see the mime artist who performs in font of the pool. Do not be one of the last to arrive as you may end up as one of his victims.

As you dont have any 'little ones' you should be ok to do the park in one day. Be prepared and planned for the day though, get there first thing and stay until the end. Must see/do's are Believe, Clyde and Seymore, Shamu Rocks (if it's on).
As you have a Discovery Cove pass, then you will be able to go back every day for a week. If you have no time, pop back in to Seaworld after your Discovery Cove day you may get a couple of hours til closing)to see the things you missed or get to see parts of the park before you have your full day.
Personally If I had one park to visit Seaworld would be it, I could go everyday of the holiday.
have a great time.

I love seaworld, it has such a relaxing feel about it compared to the other parks. We usually visit twice in a 14 day holiday and feel you'd struggle to fit everything in one day unless you stayed til late. Either way, don't miss it!

We love the relaxed pace of Seaworld. It's either a good first park on your holiday after a long day travelling, or good at the end of a holiday to wind down. TBH if you want to see everything, it's not so relaxed, but if you just take it at your own pace - it's great. All of the animal features, and the shows make it unique. Don't forget the Hospitality Center for a free Anheuser Busch samples.
