I'm another one who stokes up on Clinique supplies (at the airport). DH and boys buy clothes and trainers. DS2 always buys loads of cuddly toys but I'm going to ban them this year as his room is full! We always come home with several Star Wars toys, especially if we catch the Star Wars weekend. Lots of photo's from the rides etc and half of Down Town Disney's toy stock ;) (it feels like it anyway).

I'm bringing back a water cooler thing from Walmart that sits in your fridge and keeps about 5 ltrs of water cold. We brought one back before but DH dropped it on the floor a few months ago and it broke.

We also get pharmacy stuff from Walgreens, Cinnamon toothpaste, DS Lite games, lego and anything else that takes my fancy that you can't get here.

:wave:nope your not the only one;) I bring back cleaning tablets for my daughters retainers as they cost a fortune over here and you get more for you money there.....

Thanks for that tip :thumbs-up DD has just had a fixed brace fitted but it's handy to know for when she has a retainer.

Does the melatonin work, if so how do you use it as I suffer from jet lag a lot on the way back....

melatonin does work, there's a milk here in Ireland that has it in and when ever I drink it I have a great nights sleep. I might get some tablets when I'm over there.

Think you win with the toilet seat. I've tried to think of anything random we've brought back but i cant think of anything. Can you bring back the cheese they have out there (like you get on chilli cheese fries?) if you can, then we'll be bringing that back for sure.

We did go to a flea market last year (my dads choice not mine) and my sister and i had a task to see who could by the tackiest pressie for $5, i got a couple of magnets (lobster, breakfast shaps etc)

All I can say is we were way over our duty free limits!

DD had a Guess handbag, watch and shoes ,Mac makeup, Abercrombie t-shirts and a hoody, aeropostle tops, she wanted applebottoms but they didn't fit right, so much disney stuff it's unbelievable, she's still got things she bought as presents for people that she had already bought for!

Her BF got Oakleys, lacoste stuff, 5 pairs of levis ($15 each), tons of t-shirts, nike airmax and lots of Disney pressies for his family.

DH got 15 park t-shirts, quicksilver shoes for $30! Abercrombie, aeropostle and Hollister tops, a new mug to replace his broken one, a rose and crown pint glass, a mickey watch from the airport for $25, disney pens and pencils, loads basically.

I got the least of everyone - 2 pair of cut offs from walmart, ditto 2 pairs of fake crocs and 2 bra vests, 2 t-shirts from Geoffrey Beene, trainer socks, a Winnie mug, lots of fridge magnets, AK safari shorts and t-shirt (as I got drenched on KRR), Surfin mickey t-shirt, Seaworld t-shirt, bag and matching towel from BG.
Perhaps I didn't do too badly after all!

Oh and of course huge tubs of painkillers from Walgreens and cvs.

You could try JC Penney - their large branch in Florida Mall. They have some lovely bedding, including 300 thread count cotton sheets. Not as cheap as Walmarts, but good quality and a different selection of designs, colours, plus matching acessories (cushions, throws, etc).

The wife usually brings back as much Advil as she feels comfortable carrying....!!! The painkillers in UK just don't do the trick like Advil (or wallgreens cheaper equivalent!).
We also do our christmas shopping if we can. Last year we thought we'd bought the godchildren something pretty unique from MGM, Darth Tater and Luke Frywalker MR Potato head toys. WE thought, "great, you are unlikely to get these back home before xmas", however when we did our first weekly shop at Tescos when we got home what did we see in the toy aisles...!!!

We seem to find a whole new buying experience on every visit! lol!!

This year (as we are there for the 2 weeks from Thanksgiving) Walmart will be getting hit for some serious stocking fillers for our 4 kids. Found some amazing Disney, Diego, NFL, craft stuff last year and just wish we had bought more.

Also loving the great baby finger food (is it Gruber?). We came across these puffy things a couple of years back. Bring loads home.

And, if you have a toddler and baby (6 months+) the sit'n'stand strollers are a bargain. Less than $150 in Walmart. You can get them delivered from US to UK but the postage is $100.

I only brought back the zip bags last time cause they were left over from days out but can't wait to stock up next year.

Crazy things we bring back are spiced apple air freshener yum yum & plug in refills so cheap. DS loved the paper lunch bags. Ideal for teenager who doesn't want to carry uncool lunch box around.

My treat is Bath & Body fig & brown sugar. Just used the last from Oct but DM is off to New York for her 60th BD so hoping she'll stock up for me. ;) Happy birthday mum!

The strangest thing we brought back last year was 'cool' pillows for DBF - he likes the cold side of the pillow - and found some in Target on our last day...........what fun that was trying to squeeze into the cases with everything else we had bought!!

Other things we bring back are liquid advil painkillers, Disney stuff (of course), teeth whitening stuff, craft stuff (especially the Bucilla felt applique kits), petrol car parts, Baby Ruths (everyone loves them), cake making stuff for my Mum, febreze air freshener (vanilla and baking - lovely - we've nearly run out) and tumble dryer sheets to name a few!

It's the only time my DBF doesn't complain about shopping (although he does wait in the car when I go to the craft shops which is probably best as he would have a fit at the total I spend!!! Ssshhh-that's our secret!!!)

Fossil watches are really good value. DH always buys a few of the two for twenty bucks Timberland t-shirts, Timberland fleeces and shoes. Greg Norman range of clothing in Reebok is a must (especially when it is on the extra discount sale rail ;))

We spent quite a lot in Tommy Hilfiger last year. I usually spend a fair bit in Van Heusen on plain tops for work but didn't see many last year. Gap always gets a good hammering, especially for the grandchildren as does Osh Kosh and Carters.

I love to bring Christmas stuff home and one of my favourites is a limited edition Santa Mickey with snowbabies ornament, bought on the last day of our holiday by my son and daughter-in-law for me in 2006.

Depends who you are flying with and what your baggage allowance is. Virgin and BA allow 2 bags each weighing up to 23 kgs, which gives you lots of scope for shopping! Charter flights usually have 15 to 20kgs but you can buy more allowance.

Take as few clothes with you as possible. Its not the sort of place where you dress up every night, so you just need shorts, swimmers, a few t shirts, comfy shoes plus one smarter outfit. Most hotels have laundry facilities nd you will probably buy clothes out there.

I always pack a medium sized case, max weight 14 kgs, and put this inside a bigger case, so that I have a lot of room for shopping on my way home.

You need to bear in mind that your duty free allowance is only £145 at the moment (set to double from 1/12). If you spend more than that, you should go through the red channel and declare your shopping.
