Has anyone updated their AVG from 7 to version 8?
Is it any better?
Is it worth updating?
It seems pretty good to me. It has anti spyware and a link checker that scans search results on google for safe and unsafe links too.

I have updated both the main computer and the laptop. Can't find any faults with it at all.

I installed the free version on xp a couple of weeks ago - I have been unable to perform a scan with it - click on the button and it does not scan, and has not scanned at the scheduled times.
Been using AVG free for years with no problems, did not install the toolbar. Don't want to give up on it but anti virus with no scanner = no good. Have installed it a couple of times.
Even though I have set the update manager for once a day, every time I switch on the computer, which is several times a day at the weekend LOL, I get a message saying I need to update. It is really annoying me. Is there any way of stopping that? It was OK when it was once a day with version 7.
