Ok so we have narrowed it down to either the Regal Sun or Pop Century for our stay at beginning of December (we have no car) am getting stuck trying to decide which is the better place to book, regal sun being so close to Downtown Disney and Pop Century being Disney property meaning refillable mugs and better transportation etc so can anyone give their opinion on which they would opt for please.
Thanks

we have just had this problem ourselves and we have decided to go lbv.mainly because when we have stayed on site we found food lmtd (we now know about adrs)and we could save £1200.we figured that being so close to dtd transportation would be about the same as if we were onsite.hope this helps .smelli

It is a big problem and a big decision we like the idea of being walking distance to downtown for choices of food but is transportation better at a disney property oh choices choices

i should imagine it would be about the same, the hotel shuttles r supposed to run1/2 hourly and if you want one in between go from dtd. iknow you miss out on emh but after trying it before we didnt bother the last time(too busy)and too knackered.
we've been to pop twice. we only used the bus twice as we had a car, but it was dead easy.
the theming at pop is great and we have really enjoyed it. the only thing that lets it down is the food, which is not fantastic and the food hall is hectic.

If you're thinking of using the transport from DTD please bare in mind the buses don't actually run to the parks from there - they only go to the Resorts!

To be totally honest I'd always stay on site. For a start the theming and service is usually worth the little bit extra anyway, but you cut out so much of the messing around. If you've got a car your parking is free, if you've not you fall out of bed and jump on a bus and your straight off to the theme parks or the water parks, and if you're up sharp, as we tend to be, your in there for EMH.
You're also close enough to take advantage of a wee afternoon break from the parks, to head back to your hotel for a dip in the pool, before going back to the parks and taking on EMH in the evening.
I can't imagine what it's like walking from LBV to DTD, to get on a bus to go to a resort, to get off again and wait on another one to get to a theme park. It all seems a bit cack handed to me.

Agree with Stuart D. Onsite every time. Have you considered All Star resort?:wavey:

It would be onsite for me, there are some great resturants at the different disney hotels.
