I'm a bit weary now of umming and ahhing about were to book our holiday for August 09. It will be myself and my 13 year old daughter and the QIP has been quoted to us in our price range. I just need some words of comfort from my fellow dibbers that it would be a good choice and if so I can take the plunge and book it. Thanks :spin:

I have stayed there twice last november was the last time. It is a good base, clean, and cheap. Its not a luxury hotel and does need updating for for a cheap base its great. The food is not bad either but you have so many restaurants around you will be spoilt for choice. wonderworks and pointe shopping centre are across the road along with a cinema.

Stayed in QIP a few years ago, it's in a brilliant location, has free shuttle buses to Universal, Seaworld and Wet and Wild. its quite basic but very clean and comfy. the I Ride stop is right outside

Hi, I have stayed in the QIP 3 times in the past. We found the rooms clean, basic but with most things you would need. There are fridges in every room, microwaves and the usual TV. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The beds are changed several times per week and all towels daily. The food is okay in the hotel, but right in the front carpark you have Sizzlers which is absolutely fantastic for any meal. You have all you can eat buffets for every meal, more than you could possible fit in. Sometimes there is a bit of queue, but it goes down very quickly. There are loads of other places to eat up and down the road outside, you can walk to most of them but the I.Bus takes you everywhere. I am sure you will not be disappointed. You can, if you wish, upgrade to one of their premium rooms once you get there for a small fee, but all you get is a room in a quieter location, and nicer curtains, paintings etc, but probably is worth the extra.

We stayed there last July and would def go back again. We found it to be comfy, clean and plenty of places to eat within walking distance. There is 4 pools at the hotel. Each building has its own pool area. The staff were freindly and helpful which is what you want. Also what I liked about the rooms was having the fridge and microwave. There was an ironing board to. There is a small shop which stocks myour essentials and food, but there is a Publix supermarket across the road that is cheaper. Also there is the sports bar which serves drinks i you fancy one after coming back from the parks. It may not be the Ritz but afterall how long will you be spending in the room? If I was to compare to the UK I would say it is alongthe lines of the Premier Travel lodges, but only better. Hope you get booked and I am sure you will not be disappointed.

I'm pretty sure you could have a one bedroom suite with full breakfast at the Embassy suites ( which is just up the road in Jamaican court) for not much more than QIP.
You'll have far more room and a separate bedroom plus 2 tellys is heaven!
We booked via alpha rooms and paid £700 for two weeks - when you add up $20 a day for breakfast, it's not far off. We booked a fly drive with VH as it was the cheapest way of doing things - you don't have to take the car and a taxi from the airport is about $60.
As you're not going till next year, I would wait for a virgin sale and book a flydrive, then book accomodation separately - we saved about £400 doing just that.

We stayed there 3 years ago and like others have said it is a nice clean hotel. We go with the attitude that we don't want to spend a lot of time in the hotel, just use it as somewhere to sleep.

We went last year and to be honest, I hated it. I found it dirty and noisy although the rooms were quite large. I may have been spoilt having spent the first week in a Disney property, but I couldn't wait to leave, and neither could the other families that were with us as they all felt the same.
We were also there at the same time as lots of large groups of teenagers and I think if I had been there on my own I would have felt intimidated, though security were very good after I told them of an incident. If you can afford it then I would follow the earlier advice and go for the Embassy Suites, though I appreciate we are all different.
