if you mean the connection speed!!

do you have a router or modem, if a modem see in the systray the small box at the far right bottom of the screen where the little icons are, if there is an icon with two little computer screens, hover you mouse cursor over it and it will say the speed, if a router can you visit the webite of you provider and see under your account...who is your isp??

54.0 mpbs ?

54mbps will be the connection speed from your machine to the router. Your router will not be sucking in data from t'internet at that speed.

If you're getting a few seconds of video on Youtube and then the playing pauses then it strongly implies a slow connection speed and/or other bandwidth intensive processes sharing your connection. Your computer is receiving some data and playing it, but then it runs out of data to play until some more arrives. And so on.

This is obviously not the norm for you, or you wouldn't be asking this question. Are you using wireless (ie is there no cable from your PC to your router) ? If so, is your connection running in secure WEP or WPA modes? If not, a neighbour could, possibly, be jumping on your connection and sucking your bandwidth and depriving you. If you are in secure mode, it could just be your ISP is suffering - have another go tomorrow.
