Now, here is the question : Looking for three rooms at the Boardwalk for December 2009. Would we be cheaper getting a deal from Disney, buying from a DVC member or (and this is the controversial question!) buying on resale, having our holiday and then reselling?
Comments please!

TH1 - I think the cheapest option is to find a DVC member who is willing to rent you points. It's certainly going to be cheaper than any deal you'll get from Disney.

I'm not sure how buying resale will do it though. Contracts covering three seperate rooms would probably cost you upwards of £39,000 - you're going to have costs involved in buying the property, and then in selling the property and if you've had to hold them over the new year period your also looking at paying annual dues.

You'd lose 10% on selling the DVC as commission to the agent.

Please don't buy just to resell. You would be liable to taxes when you sold, which might be recoverable but I have read could take months to get back.

Your best bet would probably be to rent the points. Have a look at the Rent and Trade board on disboards.com
