Hi

Was originally booked to stay at Pop but have been toying with the idea of upgrading for a while. Well today (on a whim!) I called Disney and changed to Caribbean Beach. Have only been to Pop and did really like it but wanted to try somewhere different.

So have I done the right thing or would I have been better off staying with Pop? :confused2

Never stayed at a Disney resort before, but after we ourselves changed our accommodation for next years trip I would say you have done the right thing,as you would have been worrying about whether or not to change.:thumbs-up

I've stayed at both and love both. You won't be dissapointed with CBR, alot of people complain about the size of the place, but it never bothered me and I don't like walking anywhere. Aruba and Jamacia are good locations :thumbs-up

Okay I feel better now! :)

I always liked the look of Caribbean Beach so I'm glad I'm getting the chance to see it. Although maybe I should have changed before now and got the free DDP! lol

Anyway.... nearly in the double digits now! woohoo!

If you booked direct with Disney.com you can still get the free dining.

CBR is beautiful, and a very popular choice of hotel :) You definately won't regret in :spin:

Interesting! ;) Will maybe give them another little call tomorrow. Although I'm budgeted for dining anyway so it would be an added little bonus - thanks for the info!

I've been having a closer look and you're right it looks gorgeous! Think I might need another little look at the itinerary and plan a little extra time around the pools!

We stayed in Jamaica, which is wonderful and I think was perfectly situated. Definately schedule in some time to spend at the hotel to make the most of it :)

You have definitely done the right thing. We love CBR, such a peaceful resort and well spread out so it's not too crowded. Request Martinique or Trinidad North buildings to be near the food court.

Lol both great suggestions!

I think I asked for preferred - so that's Martinique or Trinidad North isn't it? Is there a specific one I should ask for? And am I best with a high or low floor do you think?

You may need to check, but I think the main pool at CBR is being refurbished throughout the summer. There are quiet pools in each "village", but they should have made you aware of this when booking.

Oh no, I could cry, I booked mine through disney.co.uk. Just my luck:nonono:

Can I just ask, how can you get on to Disney.com, when I go on it always redirects me to co.uk??

I'm not 100% sure but I had the same problem on my old computer but my new one lets me visit both sites? I booked with disney.co.uk too so don't think I'll be getting the free dining option. I really want the ultimate tickets and (correct me if I'm wrong) but they're not available through disney.com are they?

As for the main pool we should be okay as we arrive September 16th and I think the refurb is due to be finished by 15th?

Never stayed at Pop but can say POR and CSR were fab (both other moderate hotels). We too are staying at CBR this time and simply cannot wait!

If you cancel with co.uk and re-book .com, you can still buy the ultimate tickets. Just purchase One day Magic your Way Tickets from Disney.com to get the Free DDP, then buy your Ultimate tickets in the UK.

Hmmm.... I have paid about £500 off my balance - would I get any of this back now?

just been on disney.com and got a quote for the one day base ticket, preferred room and free dining - when i add it together with what i would have to pay to buy the ultimate tickets over here it works out about £100 less - which is the least i am assuming i would lose on my deposit with disney.co.uk. i think i will just stick with what i've got - but thanks for the tip anyway - i think i might go through disney.com next time (they also seem to have more hotel and room options than disney.co.uk for some reason?)

In the past we had always stayed at All Star Movies and loved it. This year we decided to go for a Moderate and stayed at POR. I'm so glad we did, it was well worth the extra money. I'm sure you won't regret changing.
