Our aged wireless router has died (an Inexq). The cable modem does not like XP so I am very glad the laptop is Vista;) so I can at least Dibb using the USB connection on the modem. Has anyone any ideas as to a replacement? All we need is to be able to connect 2 PC's and 1 laptop :confused2

I would say linksys or a cisco one as we dont have many of our users at work having problems with them!

Good that it died on a bank holiday weekend as you may find sale deals

I went to go online this morning and our router was as dead as a Dodo.

A few minutes with my multimeter showed it was the power supply, luckily I have something else with the right size plug and voltage, so router was on and back up

Id say whatever you can get a good deal on, we have a Apple router at home in the UK, Belkin and D-Link ones in the States, my brother has an unnamed one he got from B&Q, and my MIL has a netgear one, they are all pretty much the same, nothing much to pick between any of them, and they are all minimum 54g standard now which is all most people need.

I would imagine this weekend you should be able to pick one up for a good price.

Thanks for all the advice. We were thinking about the Buffalo WHR-G125 as it will do all we want it to do.
