I already have a Wii, so Im wondering if its correct that any games we buy in florida will work on our console. Also I was thinking about getting the new Wii fit board that seems to be a bit hard to come by here, will that work if I buy one in florida?
Thank you.
Julie.

Not sure about the games but we brought a nunchuck & another controller last year and they worked fine. We got them from Walmart.
I'm sure someone else can let you know for sure.

Assuming your Wii was bought in the UK, the games will not work.
And as the Wii Fit board comes bundled with the software, it won't be much good either.

No games will not work
The problem is that our TV uses PAL and USA use NTSC
buy a freeloader from play.com £9.99 then your usa games will work on your pal wii

That's not the problem at all. The problem is that the Wii is region encoded, and as such games only work on consoles that are the same region as the games.
However, you can buy a Freeloader, as Netty suggests, to get around this.

If you buy a Freeloader does it invalidate the warranty on your wii?
I remember back to when I first got a playstation I couldn't get it chipped because it would have invalidated the warranty.

No, it's just a disc that you put into the console before you play a game of a different region. It doesn't alter anything to do with the console itself.
Though even if it did (which again, it doesn't) it wouldn't be anything to worry about - Nintendo consoles don't break anyway right? :tounge:

Never knew about a freeloader. I will be getting one before we travel to the USA.

Hi
At the opposite end we bought a american wii last year to bring home and bought the uk verison of freeloader to play uk games bought here, so i suppose we get best of both worlds. The freeloader is easy to use, just insert in for approx 1min, remove the freeloader disc and put in wii game and away you go, easy;)

Hi,
Is it worth getting the freeloader disc then. Do you save a fair bit on US games?

Sometimes ASDA do good offers in Wii games, but mainly kids now have a choice when and where to buy games:)

As Netty says. Well worth the £9.99. The accessories will work though. :)
