Internet explorer removal?

How do I remove and then reinstall. Thought I would install ie7 and 2 files are missing. It wont let me download it again so i am back using bt browser at the minute. How do I do it:confused2

It's almost impossible to remove IE because it's integrated into the Windows system so deeply. What is the name of the files that are missing? The trouble is if you try and remove IE it changes the registry and when you try and reinstall it, it looks in the registry and finds the old entry in there and thinks IE is already installed and usually tells you there is a newer version of IE installed and stops the install.

How do I find it? I came accross it by accident:blush: and it had 2 files missing:blush:

Have a read of this information from Microsoft (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318378) and see if that fixes the problem. That's assuming you are using Windows XP.

Just wanted to add it is running like a dream;) Something must have happened to my virus protection as well as it picked up a virus:omg: only after i had fixed via the link you gave me:) So thanks again I appreciate the help:D:thumbs-up
