My camera takes quicktime movies .mov

I forgot to change the exposure on a movie and its very dark.

If your video is really dark, there's probably little you can do with it. You could try video editing software with an exposure filter such as Adobe Premiere, Pinnacle Studio or perhaps Windows Moviemaker. There are also a number of shareware/freeware video editors out there if you try a web search.

As Jal says, if the original is dark there's not too much that can be done without the end result looking very grainey, and the 3 packages mentioned all would allow you to increase the brightness. I personally use Sony Vegas, but (and it's a big but), it is not an easy package to master and it costs a fortune.

Did your camera come with any video editing software on a CD ? If so I'd try this to see if you can make any difference before you plumped for any professional software, however most packages allow you a small trial before you buy period too.

Hope this helps

I got my camera second hand from a friend, she had lost the handbook (which I downloaded) and the cd. At the time it didnt matter cos I just used a card reader instead of installing the camera's driver.

I found a free download for Movavi yesterday, which puts text across the film when you save it, but at least I can play it lighter on the screen without saving it, just have to play it on that page. It makes it watchable on my pc, but no good to send to anyone else to watch.

I cant load it on moviemaker cos its a .mov file, and if i convert it to wmv or whatever first, the sound and pics are not in sync!

Oh well, at least I can watch it now.
