View Full Version : Short visit to Disney....help please!!!

Our itinerary leaves us with maybe a day or two spare for Disney. To be honest, I think we did it to death on our last visit, but my wife still wants to include it....
But a one or two day pass at the gate is ludicrously expensive (approx £200 for 1 day or £375 for 2 days for our family of 5). And if you want to upgrade to a hopper or water parks....don't even go there:cry:!!!
But we have seen an offer for 2 days plus 1 day in a Disney water park for c£250 all in. Downside is that we'd have to attend a "2 hour" time share presentation before we'd get the tickets. Has anyone been on one of these in Orlando? Worth the pain??
Another alternative is to buy a used ticket and take the chance on getting in to Disney. If bought from somewhere that has permanent premises then it looks to me like it would be worth taking the chance.....? Anyone ever done this??

I wouldn't take the chance on a used ticket, and the idea of spending time in a timeshare isn't very appealing to me either. They are notoriously hardsell and I think you'd be lucky to get out after the 2 hours.
Which Universal tickets are you buying? Is there a possibility to make a savings there to free up some cash for the Disney tickets?

The only one left to buy, apart from Disney, is KSC.
My thinking on the used tickets is that if you turn up at the park and they won't work then the worst thing that can happen is that you pay the gate price - which is what we'll probably end up doing anyway. But I wouldn't buy them from someone in the street. I want to be able to eyeball someone in a proper shop if they don't work....:mad2:!! Just wondered if someone had tried doing this??

Yes, but you have already paid something for the other tickets, so you are paying twice in effect.

I bought universal tickets off ebay last time off a person with very high feedback. It worked fine.
I would not do the presentation though, once and never again

Bev is saying that you will have paid for the used Disney ticket from someone prior to finding out that the ticket has expired (i.e. from eBay or similar) and then having to pay again to actually get in the park.
Is it worth the risk? Of course there are genuine people out there looking to make a bit of money and knowing they won't be heading back to Orlando for any time soon. However at the same time there are people who will just try and rip you off.

yes that's what I meant - you pay Ebay or whoever, and then you pay Disney when the Ebay tix don't work. You said

it's a tough decision, personally I couldn't go to Orlando and not go to Disney, but I will agree that Disney tickest for less than 4 days are very expensive. Past 4 days it gets more reasonable but for short visits they are not cheap.

I understand now:tounge:!
I'd only ever buy from a source from whom I'd stand a reasonable chance of obtaining a refund i.e. a shop or someone with excellent feedback on ebay. I'd hope that any double payment would only be temporary.......

Another option if you think you will go back is to get 7 day tickets that don't expire and use the other days the next time.
That would only work if you reckon you'll go back though
Do all WDW tickets have to be signed ? If so how does that work for part used?
What about the finger scanning thingy at the gate ? (it is not fingerprints but I think it works by measuring the space between specific points on your fingers/hand)

You would struggle due to the finger scanner, my DS and I mixed our cards up and they wouldnt let us in at first, so I wouldnt waste my money on used tickets
