Hi
its my DH 30th Birthday next Feb and we have always talked of going to New York. Hes not expecting it, so has anyone got any cheap flights etc? I dont want to pay the full price now so would mean probably booking it as a holiday rather than flights and hotel separate
many thanks

Try expedia to get a rough idea of prices, when I was pricing December up for NY it was bringing up some really reasonable prices. Not sure what the deposit is with them but you could go so far through with the booking to see what deposit they require. Hope this helps.
Feb is a slow time for NY so should get good prices for flights and rooms WITH THE EXCEPTION OF PRESIDENT'S DAY WEEKEND which is Feb 13-16th 2009.

We were there for presidents day this year, didn't seem too busy & the hotel was about half the price it would've been in December!
We got flights using miles plus money from VA for £250 each (would've been £400), but if we'd waited a few months VA had a sale on & it would've been the same cost, without using our miles!

:wavey: Dh and I go to NYC alot in Feb. The temp is normally freezing ( -12 last year.) This year though was 70 degrees for two days! That's global warming for you. Anyway, try Aer Lingus web site as they sometimes have really good deals and cheap hotels.com or last minute hotels.com. This year we booked in Nov and Virgin were having a sale, we got whole package of flights and hotel (Westin Times Sq) for 7 days for approx £1000 for both of us. Bargain!

We also love Feb too and yes it was a very mixed bag of weather this year, warm one min and freezing the next.
I agree that expedia and last min have good deals if you book both hotel and flight together. We also stay at The Westin too, V nice hotel with a fantastic location.
