:pgig::pgig: To go to a character meal?

Me and DH are booked to go next May and November and I have never ever done a character meal, but am scared I will look silly, as expect it to be just families with children? Will I look out of place?

Was thinking about Chef Mickeys or Crystal Palace as Minnie and Pooh are my favourite characters.......which is better if we go? xx

we dont have kids either and we have booked a character meal for my birthday in august. I have been to character meals in DLP & DLC and we have honeslty never felt out of place - in fact I think they give you a little bit of extra fun!! Although I must say I could have pulled Miss mouse ears off when she stared flirting with my hubby, and my husband was mortified when belle came over and told him that she had been waiting so long to meet him - he had been at the buffet table when she came over originally!!!!:pgig::pgig::pgig:

Go for it - you will only regret it if you dont!!

Hell no, no-one is to old for a character breakfast, its just me and DH on holiday and we have done 3 character breakfasts, 2 at chef mickies and 1 at the polynesian, we never felt silly or childish and the characters gave us just as much as attention as the families got, Tigger even polished my DH bald spot, we got loads of photo's and had a great time, Disney brings out the kid in all of us so just do it and enjoy.
christine.
PS we also took my mother-in-law to the one in disneyland paris when she was 90, she just loved the attention and goofy pushed her around in her wheelchair.

I turned 30 last month Carys!!!!! :cry::d::pgig:

I would of course leave the vast majority of the character fun to the kids there, but just thought it may be nice to grab a piccie or 2 with the characters :)

I was asking something similar on another thread. We have kids but my boys are going on a pirates cruise at the Grand Floridian. I thought it would be nice for myself and DH to go to 1900 Park Fare for breakfast while we wait for them.:)

Having never been without kids before I didn't want to feel like a plank.

But I think we are going to go for it!! Its all in good fun.:thumbs-up

Of course you're not too old, DH and myself are in our late 40's :omg: and we love crystal palace and also liberty tree tavern on MNNSHP.
The characters always make as much fuss over us as they do to small kids.
We all become kids once we get to WDW :d::d:

Do iiit! We did Chef Mickey, Crystal Palace and Princess Storybook last time and enjoyed them all. I think it's a different but equally fun experience when you don't have kids with you, the interaction with the princesses especially was great fun :thumbs-up

I booked breakfast at CP for myself & DD after reading a mum & daughter trip report on the Dibb (i've forgotten the OP's name:() and I'm a lot older than 30;) DD was 22 at the time. We really enjoyed it and the characters are great fun. I hope you have a great time:wavey:

I loved Chef Mickey's , we do have a little one but it wouldn't stop me booking if I was childless.

The only thing me and DH noticed at CP was if you did not have kids with you then they were a bit reluctant to come over to your table. They left us until last and even then I had to speak to the CM to get the characters to come over.

I think for adults the Character Breakfast at the Grand Floriadian is better then the CP one.

you see young people, middle aged people and pensioners at character dining, dont you dare feel like that, go and have a wonderful time.
Do you honestly think that some people with children only go for the children.....:pgig:

Have a wonderful time, you wont feel odd or anything there will be allsorts of people there.
Plus we had loads of characters come over to us.

That is true we went before kids , didn't know about character dining but would have done it if I had ! Had my photo taken plenty of times with the characters no difference really ! When my kids grow up if I am still knocking about I will go again and I will spend their inheritance on the finest hotels and food and all the character dining I can get ! I will have a blue rinse and a big belly with no guilt !I may even get an ECV :pgig::pgig::pgig: OMG I am sooooooooooooo warming to this theme !

Oh heck just thought there may be grandchildren :erm::pgig::pgig::pgig:

I'm 47 and in all my trips with ex - we never did a character meal! My sister did not know about them, so my nephews never did one in their 2 trips when they were younger - SO, I'm putting that right next trip, we are doing THREE character breakfasts:D

Ohana'
1900 Park Fayre
and Cape May

My rationale - we are staying at the Poly and the YC, we need breakfast and we are on the free DDP. :thumbs-up
Ages are 51, 50, 47, 22 and 19 - we are all going to love them:pgig:

We have had numerous character meals inc breakfast and there is only the two of us with no children.

It was Peter's 40th December 2007 and we had breakfast at o'Hana's where Stitch ran off with his birthday cup cake. We also lunched at the Crystal Palace with Winnie and Friends.

I love the Disney princesses and plan to do CRT for breakfast in February 2009 for my 40th.

So no you are not too old. You can never be too old for Disney Character interaction.

Never too old. And, there'll be plenty of likeminded people doing the same. Me and the wife (both just into our 30's) did a coupld for the first time last year and had a great laugh.

Your never to old for a character meal after all isn't that what
Disney is all about becoming a kid again :)

In November there are 7 of us doing character meals, the
youngest being 28 and the oldest being 61 :d:

DW and I are in our 40's, no kids and we go to one or more Character Meal every year. Yes there are not many childless couples of our age at some of them - Storybook Princess at Norway, EPCOT especially. But who cares, we're on our holidays to enjoy ourselves and we'll probably never see any of the other people again, ever!

We don't have children and we always do a few character meals whilst we are there!! Pooh is my favourite character so we always do breakfast at Crystal Palace on our first morning!!

No one ever looks at us strange and the characters still treat us the same but perhaps spend less time with us but that is fine as it means they spend more time with the little ones!!

Ahhhhhh.......thank you sooo much everyone, those posts really made me smile and laugh, and yes I was probably worrying over nothing - just didnt want people to think look at that silly couple taking time away from the kids, cos I really would just want a nice piccie or 2, and of course enjoy the atmosphere! :)

Think I wil book brekkie at Chef Mickeys, and maybe an evening meal at Crystal Palace - eeeekkkkk......little bit excited now! xxxx

Go for it. I've booked a character meal for my DD's 14th Birthday but I didn't ask if she wanted to do it as I secretly have always wanted to do so it was just an excuse to go!
