Some games do work , some games don't ...! Any games which are region free are ok. Google region free 360 games and you should get a list to take with you.

I wouldn't risk buying any 360 games in the States unless you know 110% that the game will work on a PAL console. I own two 360 consoles...one is a PAL and the other is a NTSC. The 360 is not region free ! It is upto the individual software houses to make their games region free or not. EA sports games for example are a complete pain in the butt! I imported a copy of Madden NFL 08 . Yes this works fine on my ntsc console but it WON'T WORK on my PAL (uk) 360 console.

I don't lean either way in supporting Sony or Microsoft as I own a PS3 as well but the PS3 is TOTALLY REGION FREE when it comes to games. It's just the blu-ray films that are region locked on that console.
