Hi Sorry another question about the DDP, I have looked and seen the snacks you can get on the plan but when you are at the resorts how do we know was is on the plan, for example is there a symbol by the menu or board saying it is included and also how do we know when we are at the parks which restaurants we can eat at, unless we take our list is there another way. I hope this makes sense.
I am sure it will all be clear when we get there is just that we have not done this before.
Also is anyone with Virgin as we had a letter this week telling us that our rep will contact us before we go? Is this REALLY what happens.;)

We were on the DDP last year for the first time and was unsure what snacks were included. Most places have the sign, but if you are unsure just ask and they are willing to tell. We used to be able to get a small bowl of fruit (grapes, melon, strawberries etc) for a snack for example but it didn't have a sign to say so (if this makes sense).

As for the Virgin rep contacting you before hand we went to with Thomas Cook last year but Virgin this time and we have been told the same. Lets wait and see :)

Hi Abbey,

We did free DDP last year. Thought it was great btw!
It kinda worked that all snacks under 4 dollars were ok to get on the DDP. Can't remember if there were any signs :confused2.

As for restaurants, it is best doing your homework, although most restaurants and fast food seemed to take DDP. However, for restaurants it is best to make ADR's before you go. When we went last year at the end of August, we only used about half of our table service credits as we had not made any reservations before hand, and found it difficult to book anything out there.

Lastly, a Virgin rep called and e-mailed us approx 2 weeks before our hol last year, to discuss offers / trips that you could pre-book!

Going again this year with Virgin and free DDP

Hope this helps!

Mike

There is a little purple and white sign that indicates if it it's on the dining plan yes, so you won't get confused with snack credits for example.

We did free DDP last year for the first time too and lots of things you can get as snacks are not marked up, but they will tell you if you ask. I notice that some of the things which were marked as snacks are quite low value, so you could be better off to ask. It is really important to do ADRs if on free dining. The restaurants were packed last year.

Thanks everyone, I have booked 6 table services with my ADR'S but have used 8 credits as 2 of them are 2 credits each. So we have 4 floating ones so we have got some flexable days. Will look forward to the rep contacting me, I could do with a discount code for a cabana at Aquaitca!! ( there is a space on their web site booking page to put one in but where do you find it) :cool2:
