Can anyone recommend good breakfast spots near Seaworld

We are staying at the Rennaissance Resort opposite Seaworld and i'm sure we will eat here once or twice but I reckon it will cost us $80+ per day :omg: to eat in for two adults and two teenagers.

Mostly ate at Perkins in LBV 2 years ago as I loved the Corned Beef Hash n eggs :tounge:

Any suggestions and ratings welcome

Hi

There is a denny's and also a place called Friendlys, which as the name implies the staff are very friendly (Well they were when we went). Try this link

You are right about eating at the Renaissance. Buffet breakfast is excellent but it is about $18 each plus tax and tip. Nice to do once in a while, e.g. if planning to spend the morning round the pool.

I love Friendlys for breakfast. Great omlettes, scrambled eggs etc, but I always have their stack of buttermilk pancakes at least once per trip. Served with fruit topping and squirty cream, with a side order of bacon (on the same plate!) yummmmmy.:tounge:

Ericsmum how close is Friendlys to the Renaissance ?

Walking distance ? I Trolley or Car ?

Hotel looks great but don`t fancy paying 4 x $18+ every day

hi we have stayed twice at the renaissance and like erics mum said the breakfast is lovley but very expensive, we mainly took the i ride to the village inn or i hop both of which are only a few stops on the bus, a little further up on the i ride is perkins, friendleys and dennys etc.
sometimes we just had breakfast in starbucks in the hotel if all we wanted was coffee, juice or muffins etc, the prices in there are half the price in the Uk :d:

Hope you don't mind me bumping in. I am very interested in this thread as we will be staying at the Renaissance on 30th June.;)

At $18 plus tax and tip, don't think we will eat in the hotel very often. :erm:

we only ate once in the hotel tradewinds for breakfast, the choice was out of this world, fresh salmon was among the buffet items,
Its nice for a special occasion but bit too expensive,
for dinner we found the sportsbar in the hotel lovely and very nice food at very reasonable prices too.

Hi Scottishmum

What sort of food is available at the Sportsbar ? Are we talking snacks such as burgers, hot dogs, chicken wings etc ?? or can you get main meals such as steaks, seafood etc

I`ve eaten in the sportsbar at the Marriott World Center before and the food there was great so hoping for something similar.

hi barneymag
Im not too sure about steaks and seafood as I dont tend to go for that, but we had stuff like wraps, fajitas, etc, its quite upmarket so not like a typical sportsbar type place, the cocktails are lovely too.
Portions huge, Im not sure if its like the one in the marriot world center.

Just as an extra question what did you think of the hotel in general ? we`re staying for 2 weeks, obviously a lot of time at the various parks but like to chill out for a day or two and if possible spend a few evenings not driving to restaurants or parks ..... might even manage a Bud or two !

Your very welcome , the hotel is fab! the pool is massive and rarely gets too busy, the pool bar great with great food too, Huge portions.
By the pool there is a table tennis table and a snooker table,
some nights they were showing a movie by the pool with free popcorn etc,
We have stayed here twice and would love to do so again.:wavey:

Hi

Walking distance.

:wavey:

I don't agree. I would not like to walk from the Renaissance Sea World to Friendlys, it must be a good couple of miles each way and part of it is besides a busy road with no pavements. :omg: I Ride trolley would do it, and it stops outside the hotel.

I've stayed there twice and completely agree. The rooms are also large and recently refurbished, with flat screen LCD TV and enormous, very comfy beds.
