I find the American bread very sweet, I end up buying the freshly baked french sticks etc, but that does not keep well, can anyone recommend a sliced loaf similar to what we buy in the UK like Warburtons etc etc

Italilan bread is your best bet. It`s really lovely. Publix are the best for bakery products, they do lots of really lovely stuff. They are our favourite supermarket over there. :-)

We don't like the bread either as its sweet. But being in a villa for most of our next holiday we would want to get some bread for toast etc.:thumbs-up

Walmart bakery do an English Toaster loaf which is pretty close to what you'd get at home and toasts beautifully.

This is quite useful to know. We've avoided buying bread, after finding it far too sweet. Will give the Italian bread a go on our next visit.

Dont know what the bread tastes like in UK but if you go for the whole grain breads, organic and even weight watchers they will be less sweet than the white big name brands.

Myself I prefer rye bread for sandwiches and bagels for toasting.

We get the wholemeal "amish style" bread from Walmart.

Lovely for sarnies and not too bad toasted either.

Will make a note of the Chigaco bread though, thanks for the tip.
