mobile phone prices in Florida

Can anybody give a rough estimate of prices of mobile phones, compared to UK. Also, would they be compatable in the UK?
Any advice appreciated, Mark.

Mobile phones seem a bit behind the times over there, we bought PAYG mobiles and they look like toy ones. They start at less than $10 for basic models. I'm not sure about top end ones or if you can get the same modls as here. If they are triband they would be compatible with UK networks.
