is it essential to book dinner in the disney parks??? Or is it just in the resorts?? Thinking of places like the crystal palace at magic kingdom is it by advance reservation only? Or can I just turn up?? I am totally confused by all this adr information!!
It all depends on when you are going, the size and make up of your party and where you want to eat.
During busy times (eg Christmas, Thanksgiving, Summer) or when events/promotions are on (eg free DDP) then you may struggle to get a table as a walk up guest without an ADR.
If you are willing to eat very early or very late, you may stand a better chance.
If you are a smaller party then again you will fare better than if there are 6 or more of you
If you know you want to eat in a certain restaurant, on a certain day, without a long wait, then it is always better to make an ADR - after all, it will cost you nothing to do so.

Hi
I would make an ADR as last week we had a change of plan and while we were at Epcot decided to have a meal but all the restaurants we wanted to try were all full up.

If you enquire at Guest Services early in the morning at the park you are visiting you may get what you want but I'd always recommend making an ADR. You can always cancel it if your plans change.

I'd say Crystal Palace is a very popular restaurant at anytime
of year so would definately recommend making an ADR before
you go
