Thinking of a last minute break to Tenerife, just me and DH for once for some rest & relaxation. Where's nice to stay for couples looking for peace and quiet? We've only done the Costa Adeje area before which was fine but thinking of maybe Los Cristianos this time, is it nice there? Any hotel recommendations?
We have stayed at Green Golf Resort which is just outside Los Cristianos surrounded by the golf course, needed to take taxis to most places, but we liked Los Cristianos, plenty of choice of places to eat and you can walk along the beach to Las Americas (if you want).

Thankyou Allan it sounds like Los Cristianos would suit us fine.

The mediterranean palace hotel is supposed to be nice on the sea front. Its at the very edge of Playa De Las Americas - about a 10 min walk along the sea front to Los Christianos.
We havent stayed there but our time share is next door (Tenerife Royal Gardens) and also we have stayed in appartments next door but one Vista Sur Appartments - they are great and have balancies looking over the beach and walkway in to Los Christianos- no good if you want a hotel though.
We alway love this area as its as quick to walk into Los Christianos as it is to walk to the centre of Playa De las America but is much quieter than the centre of PLA. There are a number of shopping centres real close by too.

Agree with Allan lovely walk along the beach front between Los Cristianos and Las Americas. We generally stay in Las Americas when we used to go so cannot recommend accommodation although we used to go to Los Cristianos alot at night, nice places to eat and shops to browse. We did stay once in the Princessa Dacil which we didn't like and would avoid, although it was many years ago and it might have changed. My mother-in-law has stayed in the Arona Gran and had a great time also know of friends who stayed there and spoke highly of it. Big market in Los Cristianos on a Sunday near the Arona Gran Hotel.
Have a nice time.

Hi we stayed at the Med palace at New Year and can recommend it just for the area alone, you are central location and can use all the pools and facilities within the Mare nostrum Resort.
We booked our flights with Thomsons and the hotel through Hotelopia and got a great rate with the discount code.
Previously we have always stayed in Los Cristianos, when the kids were younger but liked this location because you could either walk between the 2 as its all on the flat or get a taxi but we did find that Tenerife was very expensive to what it used to be like Linda sais previously.
Let me know if you need any info about the hotel etc.

Have to agree about how expensive it has become.....!!!?!?! We went in May and it was extremely expensive compared to the last time we visited the Canaries. Fortunately, we were all-inclusive this time, otherwise it would have cost us a small fortune in spends........:erm:

We went in May and found a gorgeous resort. The other side of Costa Adeje called.....
El Duque
Beautiful hotels and villas - very exclusive. Not sure of prices but if we ever go back to Tenerife it will hopefully be to that area.

El Duque is beautiful isn't it? Must admit I'll never head anywhere near Las Americas again....sitting on the rocks overlooking Playa del Duque was the best part of my holiday a few weeks ago.....

That's where we are going! :D
We stayed just at the end of the beach at El Duque last time between there and La Caleta, beautiful area so we thought we'd go back to the same area again but try a different hotel.
I have taken your advice and booked all inclusive too so hopefully we won't be spending too much.
