We are going to Disney for 3 weeks in Sept 2009 and thought we would spend a couple of nights down in clearwater and go to Busch Gardens we wanted to know of hotels on the beach that are nice and clean but not too expensive. Party of 3 2 Ads and 1 Child. Any Ideas?

we stayed at the hilton clearwater on our first visit to florida in 2004 it is a nice hotel right on the beach good pools walking distance to bars and eating places and not too expensive . if you look at various websites its around £80-£90 a night:grin: we are thinking of staying there again this year for a night

We stayed in the Best Western Seawake last time we were there. It was not nice at all, so avoid it if it's still open. It's going to be closed down in the future so they've stopped bothering to look after it properly.

We're staying in the Sheraton Sand Key this time. It looks lovely.

We stayed at the Sheraton sand key resort last year and the hotel was lovely. You could walk right out onto the beach and you were right at the end of the island so the beach wasn't too busy. Highly recommended:thumbs-up

What about St Pete's beach? The Tradewinds Island Grand is a lovely hotel right on the beach.

We stopped at the Hilton at Clearwater Beach in May, it was a good hotel, nice view of the sea and a little beach bar.

We have stayed at the Quality Hotel on the Beach great location and hotel was good as well. There is an Ihop underneath it. Wouldn't hesitate staying here again.

We would recommend the marriot suites on sandkey, they are accross the road from the beach but right on the intercoastal waterway, where we saw lots of dolphins. They have entertainment for kids to such as dive in movies:dbb3:

We stayed here too, but it was a long time ago (2002).

We loved the hotel, and had a massive room with a lovely balcony overlooking the beach.

I can't remember the exact price but it was one of the cheaper ones in the Virgin brochure at the time. We paid a £7 pernight supplement for our Gulf view which was worth every single penny! I don't think that you can book it through Virgin any more though.

As Manesty says, it's attached to an IHOP and there are quite a few restaurants and convenience stores within a few minutes' walk. From memory there was a pizza place (lovely pizzas), a Waffle House, Subway and several fish restaurants very nearby :)
