horse riding gear in florida eg. hats, body armour? if so where is the best place for it and is it cheaper than over here?

I'm afraid I can't be of any first hand help on this but can offer you a website that you may be able to contact some shops to see if they could point you in the right direction. We do have a large equestrian area in the center of the state (Gainesville, Ocala, Leesburg) and also a good bit of rodeo/cattle in the Kissimmee/St. Cloud area.

Try Tack Shops (http://www.tackshops.us/florida.htm) and see if this helps.

If you don't have any luck stop into the Festival Bay shopping center and go to the western store there. They may be able to help you. They stock boots and western wear so they might just have the information.

My daughter has a horse in the UK, and we have tried to buy horse tack but have never found anywhere that sells it in Orlando.

Try contacting Grandy Cypress Equestrian Center (http://www.grandcypress.com/equestrian/tack_shop/). It is in Orlando and they have a shop. It might be pricey but I'm guessing they could also make local suggestions. They have a nice website.
