We were there in October last year. It is a very good park. It used to be owned and operated by Universal and it shows. It still has the ambiance of a quality US theme park and there is a good mix of rides for all age groups. There certainly were characters, although all I can remember was Woody Woodpecker! We were able to do the whole park comfortably in a day but we went back to ride our favourites on a second day. There's a water park which they also own immediately next door but that was closed until the summer season.
You can walk there from the seafront in about 20 mins but I would take a taxi as it doesn't cost too much.
Weatherwise - what can I say! We endured torrential rain for the week EXCEPT the two days we went to the theme park. It wasn't however cold! I think what I am saying is that it's a bit pot luck. Salou doesn't enjoy the same temperatures as the Costa Del Sol so best pack waterproofs and a sweatshirt but also a t-shirt and shorts just in case you get lucky!
Have fun. By the way - if you can get tickets on line before you go you may save a few pounds.
we went end of sept beginning of oct 2006 weather was good apart from one day rained none stop all day but that was it DS was 5 then and he loved it character wise there is woody and winnie woodpecker, shrek, popeye and olive, pink panther, betty boop, photo opportunities throughout the park dont worry your daughter will have a good time DS still goes on about it now and hes been to florida since so that says it all really,
sorry dont know about the hotel as we stayed onsite i would definetly go back there,
ann
i posted some pics of DS on another thread a while back if you wnat to take a look:)

We went last year and loved it. We went in May and the weather was great, we had a brill time in the park and water park. My son also still talks about it now saying what a great holiday it was. I would go again.

Hi, the park is owned by the Caixa banking group, the universal links were dropped in 2005.
Thanks

We went in July last year and had a great time. There are tonnes of characters about, there always some out and about, we saw Woody & Winnie Woodpecker, Betty Boop, Pink Panther, Shrek & Fiona, Chilli Willy, Popeye, Olive & Bluto and I'm sure there was more. One word of warning, if you want photos with them, you have to be ruthless and just push your way in, as there are no queues like at WDW and we found that none of the foreign (meaning non UK or US) visitors would give a second thought of barging you out of the way to get to the characters, so just go in get your pictures done and go otherwise you could be waiting a long time.
As for the rides, there is plenty in there that children will find fun, although there are a lot of bigger rides as well. It is a big park so make sure you take it easy when going around, as it is more or less one big circuit with little easy transportation between areas. Also I think the waterpark will more than likely be limited to the indorr section at that time of the year, which is fun enough, but just be prepared as I know some people see the big slides from a distance and then find out that they are closed.
