I'm trying to put together a 1st draft for our 3 week trip in Oct 2009.
i need some help with places to eating out, and that are suitable for kids too.
we normally end up eating in the golden Coral nearly every night, although its nice i dint think i can face 3 weeks of the same buffet food.:omg:

kids are 9, 4, 3, 1.

so far on the list:
planet Hollywood
hard rock café
good place to eat and watch the wishes fireworks?
place to book a dinner package for fantasmic?

we really are stuck:erm:

Well for the wishes fireworks I'd recommend California Grill at Contemporary, great food and a fantastic view.

How about a character breakfast(or dinner)? Chef Mickeys and 1900 Park fayre are the ones we've done and I can recommend both of them.

Hard Rock cafe's good, also Mythos at IOA.

How about something a bit different like Dine with Shamu or one of the other SW restaurants?

Hi

We ate at Mama Melrose's for the Fantasmisic dinner package and really enjoyed it! The food was lovely and it had a good atmosphere too! One of the best meals of our holiday!:D

Outback on the 192 is our favourite with Red Lobster across the road. The kids would probably like the Rainforest Cafe though the storm feature might be a little frightening to your youngest? My cousins go quite often and they tried Raglan Road and loved it!

for a relatively healthy meal and a break from fries, burgers and ribs, why not try Sweet Tomatoes? It is a buffet restaurant with salads, jackets, soups, chilli, pasta, fruit, puds etc. Yum. Around $7 or $8 per adult, less for kids.

we will be staying in kissimmee in a rented villa, but we have car hire so location is not a problem.

budget wise, i try to do a mix of cheap and not so cheap meals so it kind of averages out.

thanks so far to everyone thats replied:grin:

Ci-ci's Pizza buffet is always popular (as long as they like pizza) incredibly cheap too; not a posh night out but kids love it!

Other off site places with a reasonable kids menu are:

Outback
TGI's
Chili's
Bennigans
Applebees

Never tried Sweet Tomatoes, but it comes highly recommended and is on my list for next time!

Don't get your hopes up about Planet Hollywood - my kids really wanted to go there but it was awful, expensive (for basically the same food you can get at any of the above) dreadful service, rude staff, queues. We wished we hadn't bothered.

Uno's and Black Angus Steakhouses are also worth a try. Really enjoyed my meals at those places, and both do a good kids menu.

Try Chili's or Olive Garden. Both serve superb food at a reasonable price.

For your buffet restraunt's you have got to go to the Golden corral, its always busy but the best thing about that is that all the food is very fresh and they have some really great food we love it because we have a DS9 and he likes chicken, pasta, and ice cream, DW likes steak and mash, and for breakfast she likes corned beef ash:eek:,etc, i like pizza, chicken and i love my salad and sauce's and homemade cookies mmmm nice (mouth is watering just thinking about it) and its great value. www.goldencorral.com just pop in the zip code and it will tell you where the nearest 1 to you is. And when you come out pick up some vouchers/ coupon books for money off, Cici's pizza is good value as well but they only do pizza and pasta and some dessert's.

We found the Olive Garden to be really good value they also do takeout so after a long day at the parks you can have a good meal in the villa without having to cook.

Golden coral sounds good.

Bearing in mind it's 10 years since my last visit, I always thought the Ponderosa's and Sizzlers were good.

Any thoughts?

As a kid, we always used to eat at the GC, it was great value, close to our hotel & it meant we could all have whatever we wanted. Plus....the desserts there are delicious!! It became a sort of 'tradition', lol. When I went in 2005 with my Dbf, we only ate there once for breakfast because we spent all of our time at the parks, but I'll definitely be squeezing a few more visits in when we go next year.
