... any recommendations for shops to visit to get good running shoes whilst across in Orlando area soon ?

Know of the "usual" type of sports shoe shops (Foot locker etc.) but if there are any shops that folks can vouch for based on own experience or are "out of the beat and track" I'd appreciate the heads-up.

Also if any good & inexpensive shoes to look for please let me know.

BTW, just about to start training for a half marathon (in October), I'm not a runner, must be mad :spin:

I got some great trainers in the NIKE outlet last time . Take some advice from a good sports shoe shop before you go, some shops will even test your gait and movement to test which would be best for you .Serious runners use ascics and the Nikes I got are very like them . None of the shox or dressy aerobic type shoes that you can get in them , if you really know what you need you can still find an excellent bargain.

I do intend to get proper fitting out for these shoes as you suggest, last time I did a marathon (many years ago) I used the wrong shoes, ended up with a knee operation within 6 months :cry:

Older/slower/heavier this time around, so planning a bit more wisely (except time-wise ...).

There use to be a Saucony shop in the ORLANDO PREMIUM OUTLETS Mall but I dont know if it is there yet. My last visit was in 2002.
I'm a regular runner & what I do is take the latest copy of runners world magazine then look in the back at recommended shoes. Then go in the Brand name shops & hunt them down. Saucony or Asics make good running shoes.
