Hi has anyone done the Discovery Cove Ultimate Adventure without the dolphin swim is it worth doing?
I like the idea of the swimming in ray lagoon and the coral reef :thumbs-up
Hi,
We think the non swim package is more than worth it, you only miss the actual 30 min interaction with a dolphin, which seems to go VERY quickiy.
The whole day is brilliant and we all felt very spoilt.
On our next trip only 6 out of our party of 14 are doing the swim as the others are just as happy to be in the park, its like being on your own private island, as although it has up to 1000 guests its not crowded. In fact if I remember correctly there was only about 5 families using the sun loungers last time we went.
I say go for it

It is definitely worth it as it is a beautiful park and there is loads to do. However if you have never done the dolphin swim I would say to do it as it is truly amazing! I have DC 4 times in the last year - twice with the dolphin swim and twice without :) xx

I woulds say it is still worth it, by brother and I both went in with the dolphins but he thought swimming in the coral reef was just as if not better than the dolphin swim. The free food all day is great and you are well looked after.

I agree!:) We went last year for the first time and will be going back in October - my two DS are doing the dolphin swim again as we're going with my sister, her husband and their son who've never been before but my DH and me thought we'd be happy to watch and take pics I loved the coral reef and as you say the snack bars and free food is great:grin:

I didn't do the dolphin swim the first time we went but did the second time. It was 3 years ago but the rule then was at least one person in your party had to do the dolphin swim, ie you couldn't just use it for a day out, not sure how it works if you go on your own! Anyway, again if memory is right, adding the swim on isn't that much extra so may well be worth it. Be warned though you are pushed to buy photos and video/dvd afterwards and everything is positioned so that it is very hard for anyone on shore to get photos etc (learnt that from first time)so really you have to buy their stuff if you want memories of the day.
But as everyone else has said go for it, it is a lovely day!

As you only have 37 days to go, I'd get on the Discovery Cove website and try to book now. You may have left it too late though, as numbers are restricted. Good luck.

sorry to jump on the post, butwhen we say photos are expensive, what prices are we looking at?
Im going soon and i cant wait! :tiggerbou
Ican't remember the exact cost of the photos but Ithink it was in the region of $200-$300 but this was for one of the more expensive packages along with the DVD of our swim and a CD with our photos on them along with various printed photos. We did the dolphin swim last year but would not hesitate to do the non-swim as the rest of the park is vast and fabulous.:thumbs-up

we paid $130 for 6 large photos, 2 smaller ones, 2 keyrings with photos in them and another 2 keyring size photos along with the cd of all the photos, I think the dvd was an extra $70 on top of that.
You are not pushed into it at all, you can just choose what you want and a couple of people where there with us didnt buy any and that was fine, especially if you have done it before.

I am also tempted to do dc... even though i've probably left it way too late now. Not bothered about swimming with Dolphins again as we did this in the Bahamas. But like the look of the park, sting ray pool etc....... But 1000 people still seems a lot:erm: I would be worried that there would be no sun loungers left, scrum for the food, lots of queing for wet suits etc!

Honestly 1000 is no where near a lot for dc, the place is massive and has several "beaches" where there are lots of sunloungers etc,
we had no queue for vests either, its all very well thought and planned out.
