mk on christmas day

We are planning on going to the mk on christmas day, I have checked the times and see that it opens at 8am. Do you think we should arrive before then?

I was in Florida during the Christmas period last year. I heard a chap telling someone else that the car park was full at 8:30am:confused2

We didn't bother Christmas Day, we stayed at the villa we hired and chilled:cool2:

Yes definately.

We have done it once - the weather was appalling so it put a lot of people off, but we had an 8am ADR at CRT in the castle. We arrived at the parking lot just after 7am, entering the park around 7.20am. They had already opened the turnstiles and were doing a slow walk rope drop which stopped just past the shops on Main St. Main St was solid with people right back and when the rope "dropped" the runners at the front all fell over because it was so slippery.

They roped dropped about 7.45 because they couldnt hold back the crowds any longer (and bear in mind it was raining cats and dogs and very cold!). After our breakfast, surprisingly the park was actually not too busy to start with - but by 10.30 /11am the rain stopped briefly and I think all the resort guests made a break for it and honestly, Ive never seen so many people!! We left just before noon and the park was on the brink of closing as you couldnt even walk up Main St - this is unusual - not the crowds, but the fact MK was so late in getting full. It was only the weather that held the crowds back first thing - its quite common for it to "close" by 10.30 (and by that, it means they only let people in as people leave).

If the weather is anything but very wet, then Id say aim to get to the park gates for 7.30.

We are planning to go early on the 25th,however If it gets too crowded will retreat to the Hotel for a day at the pool,going by reports from previous 25/12..I do not expect to last longer than Noon:cry:

We went last Christmas and got there about 0815 hrs and it was busy so I would suggest no later than 0830 hrs, would say it is a great experience but it is busy so be prepared......:grin:
