View Full Version : Seaworld planning!
We will be spending a day (maybe two) at Seaworld this month (ooooh i love saying that :spin:) and as we haven't been since 2003 we don't remember very much about it!
Can anyone give me some ideas of must-do's and the order in which we should do the attractions?
Many thanks! :wavey:

Yes Vron, could you give Shamu a big sloppy kiss from Auntie Beryl and tell him I will see him next month:spin:...............please:blush:
Not much help am I;)
Right Vron - I want to see your trippie saying that you went straight to the Ray pool and fed them - yes really!:D
Then on your toes to Kraken (and I want proof via the ride photo) - then for a soaking on Journey to Atlantis. On from that to send a diver down for that must have pearl...:thumbs-up
Stopping along the way to make your lunchtime reservation for the Sharks Underwater Grill.:tounge:
Time your shows - Clyde and Seymour and Shamu are musts. Many people rave but frankly I think Blue Horizons is arty prancy, more about humans and birds than dolphins, rubbish (think I may have been a bit subtle there;))
After that - a swifty at the Hospitality Centre and as Gordon Ramsay would say "Seaworld - Done":pgig:
(I'm sure many others will rave and say there are lots of other things, but those are my highlights and then I'm off):)

Blimey, are you sure you don't want to give me a time schedule to go with that???? :omg: :pgig:
Right, we'll look at the Rays but not feed them, i have a vague recollection of Beth throwing a major wobbly after a Ray sucked on her finger!!! :pgig:
Kraken and Journey to Atlantis are a no-no for me, so i will be on bag duty while my brave loved ones do those!
And there is absolutely NO WAY Andy will leave the Hospitality Centre till last! He's already told me i'm going teetotal that day so he can have my share!!! :pgig:
But apart from that your plan looks perfect! ;)

Well pardon me for trying to help :p:
I seem to remember the OP and FORMER friend;) asking for "must do's and in what order" - I was doing as I was told (for once;))
Right, slinging my teddy well out of the pram and flouncing off..........................:(
Hi Vron
You really must go and feed the Dophins and Rays, and then go watch the Dolphins underwater viewing.
'Blue Hoizons' is an absolute must, we love Shamu and go every time we visit Seaworld but thought 'Blue Horizons' was a much better show.
Nautilus is a nice little show and it gets you out of that hot Florida sun for about 1/2 hr:pgig::pgig::pgig:
God I could keep going where Seaworld is concerned I think it is one of out favorite parks.
Oh Yes and don't forget Clyde and Seamore and the penguins and the puffins. Then at night you can always go to the Polynesian Luau:pgig::pgig::pgig:
Anyway just go and have a thoroughly brilliant time:wavey::wavey:

Awwww Sweetie, you're help was much appreciated - although i still can't believe you even dared suggest leaving the Hospitality Centre till last! :omg: :pgig:
The one and only time we went to Seaworld we weren't overly impressed and i'm convinced we missed loads of stuff, so i want to make sure we get the most out of our visit this time!
I understand the fireworks and night time show are on while we're there so i think we'll probably do a full day then go back the next evening to see the show!
It's been so long i can't remember very much about our last visit apart from feeding the Dolphins, seeing Shamu and the Clyde and Seymour Show - oh and the finger sucking incident!!!
Just thought of another question - I understand there is a big outdoor/wet play area! Will Beth (11) be too old for this? Is it similar to the play areas in Universal and AK or is it aimed more towards toddlers? :wavey:
If I recall rightly - don't hold your breath waiting for the fireworks Vron, they are not a patch on Disney's:nonono:
Oh - you are forgiven, but only because I like you:grin:

Beth will love the outdoor play area and certainly wouldn't be too old for it - the main frame is a three story high rope climb/slide/ball park section. My two love going here.

Thank you Hun, that sounds great! :thumbs-up

Definitely don't leave the Hospitality centre until last, in fact go there first and book yourselves in the the beer school, usually quarter past the hour but times are listed on the info. sheets at the entrance. As Beth is under 21 she wont be able to partake but there is a seating area for her to wait, or just let your DH do it by himself - mine does and trust me it keeps him happy for the day.:beer2:
I love Blue Horizons more than any other show but I'm probably just a real softie at heart, it always makes me cry. Plenty of whales and Dolphins to see.
If you find yourselves waiting around until the next show, visit the sea lions, they're tucked away in a corner and people often miss them - you can feed them too.
If you intend to go in the evening for Mystify, try and do the Clyde and Seymour evening show. It's totally different to the daytime show and takes the proverbial out of the other shows, so make sure you've seem them first (hope that makes sense).
Oh, and lastly - whilst your DH is enjoying the pleasures of the of Budweiser store, take yourself and Beth around the sweetie shop and clothes for ladies, they've got lots of nice stuff in there.
I've been there sooo many times I think I could get a job doing the guided tours. Talking of which, if you love Dolphins, book in for the Dolphin Nursery tour - it's worth every penny, sorry cent.

Jill, you're a star! :thumbs-up
I remembered hearing about the beer school, but couldn't find any info on it so DH thought i was imagining it! He will be a very happy boy now! :pgig:

You're welcome, unfortunately he won't be able to book in at the entrance you have to go to the Hospitality Centre to book - so if one or all of you go over there early you'll be able to choose a time to fit in with all the shows in the day. Bit of a pain really.
Tell him that even when he's had his samples in the beer school, he can still then have two more from the main bar area too. Most of the time there's also a smaller bar with specialist beers too where he can have another sample from them aswell. Making a total of 3.
Jill
PS My DH has all these plus mine as well and, yes, I am then the nominated driver!

Oh no it's not, it's pants!
Too many prancing humans (ok in lycra;)) - blink and you miss a real sea mammal.

Eat at Sharks Underwater Grill, it's great there. We last went in 2004 so I can't really help with the shows side of things as I'm none the wiser than you! ;)
x
Sharks underwater grill is nice. Go to the desk in front of it at 10 am to book your table. I love Clyde and Seymour they are fab ! Book dh in for a shark dive after he is bravadoed up in the hospitality suite !
