My O/H's mum and sister have both told me that they have heard that the cheapest place to buy Disney tickets is from Walmart. I've tried to source them on the internet with little success. Has anybody bought their tickets from Walmart? Would we have to wait until we got to Orlando?
Personally I'd rather get them from ATD or orlando-ticket-deals. I booked our Discovery Cove ones with OTD and paid just a 20% deposit which helped out O/H's sister as she is saving like mad so anything we can put a deposit on and pay for later suits her rather than having to take the full hit now.
Any help would be gratefully received - I have been unofficially chosen as number 1 planner and organiser from the group and would like to be armed with as many tips as possible so that we can make an informed decision.

I was always told to buy before you go. As it is better that way.
Hi,
We bought our Disney tickets from Walmart last summer and found them to be the cheapest around.
We bought them at the Clermont Walmart. We will be doing the same again this year.

Oooh, that's very interesting! I never knew you could buy them there. Is it just Disney or can you get all the park tickets in walmart? We are planning our first trip for October and need to do some serious planning! This seems to be a very friendly, helpful place to find the info we need.

Stupid question alert!
Don't Disney tickets ever sell out???
We're going on 2nd April so will be there for Easter and the last thing we'd want would be to go without tickets only to find that they had sold out. Or is that a virtual impossibility?

I am a travel agent and even I tell people to go to walmart. Don't forget they add the tax though. Not all walmart's do them so do check it out. I know the one just above the 192 on the 27 do them.

We bought our tickets last month at Walmart. Only wanted to do IOA and US and got 7 consecutive day tickets for the same price as a 2 day. Saw some good offers also in Publix and if you have a UK Costco card have a look in Costco over there. Very good price on ticket cards there as well.
Enjoy your planning!:)

Hi, we always buy our Disney tickets when we get there.
We have bought from Ticketmania and Mapleleaf, look for their special offers.
Ticket Mania will post to you and Mapleleaf are on the 192, it is also usually cheaper to buy Universal and Discovery Cove tickets direct from their own web sites in Florida.
Hope this helps Jean.

Wont the Walmart tickets be the same restrictive tickets you buy when purchasing from the states. We seem to be able to buy these Ultimate tickets inthe UK which allow you topark hop and do the water parks etc as, many as you want to do. The common ones over the pond seem to be the "Magic your way" tickets, which dont allow hopping etc, am I right or just imagining this......
So, what tickets are available from Walmart and how much do they cost. Its a £159 for 14 days unlimited from the UK, are they any better from Walmart?
The WDW Ultimate Tickets are only available in the UK. They allow unlimited park access for 14 or 21 days as well as park hopping, water parks are included.
What tickets you buy will depend upon what you plan to do. If its WDW every day (or most days) then the Ultimate may suit.

From the American sites I've seen the MYW tickets come in loads more variations than the Ultimate and Premium we get. They come as base tickets onto which you can add park hopping, water parks and none expiration.
This is my first time though, so I could be looking at it incorrectly. :)

We got our tickets from walmart last year, mainly because MIL worked for Asda overhear and people had told her she could use her asda discount card(which she could).
We had decided that we weren't going to do all disney, but venture out into the state of florida and have a better look around.
We found that at Walmart the disney tickets they had though were very simular to the ultimate ticket you can get over here, but they did a lot of different tickets for the like's of US and IOA(like being able to visit both parks in 1 day) on the same ticket. Also tickets for place's like Kennedy were quite a bit cheaper than the gate price and price's being offered by the travel company's over here.

We bought at Walmart last year but for Disney only and found them actually dearer than the at gate prices :confused2
But we only wanted a couple of days and there was a promotion on at Disney which brought their prices down a bit.
Certainly found that it is usually cheaper to buy before we go as a lot of the special deals are only available in the UK.
The best that you can do is keep an eye on all the websites including Universal and watch out for those.
the difference will probably only be a few dollars anyway unless you come across a promotion such as buy one adult ticket get one child ticket free which sometimes happen.
Happy hunting. Its all part of the Florida experience :D

How much are we talking for these tickets? Everyone keeps saying how cheap they are, but no ones posted a price :spin:

The prices and type tickets change constantly. The prices are maybe $2 difference in price than the gate prices. As far as Universal tickets, the best deal anywhere is online for the 7 day tickets. There is no guarantee that the Walmart you go to will have those. They do have them periodically but not all the time and not at all the Walmarts. I'd buy them before you go.
The Disney tickets you can buy at Walmart are the same prices as what you can buy at some of the hotels at the Guest service desks.
