We arrive teatime on the 4th July from Las Vegas and are staying until the 11th, we have 5 day hopper passes and bonus passes for universal. It's just me and my boyfriend (it's his first time!) so any suggestions for a plan for a week, any ideas would be much appreciated!
Just noted that no one has replied to you (I hate it when that happens).
You are arriving on possibly the busiest day of the year, so make sure you do not go to any park on that day. The next day (monday) will also be busy but you could go to Seaworld which will be quieter or Epcot which can cope with the crowds.
Do you plan to have rest days of go, go, go while you are there?
If it was me, it would be:
Sun 4 - rest, nice meal out in evening
Mon 5 - Seaworld or Epcot
Tues 6 - MK
Wed 7 - AK and MGM
Thurs 8 - rest day, shopping, DTD
Fri 9 - US/IOA
Sat 10 - Back to fave Disney park (this could be any one of the 4) or go to a Disney water park
Sun 11 - Final shopping, or Mini Golf, nice lunch out, then off to airport.
Have fun whatever you do! You'll love it and it will probably be the first trip of many.

Don't forget as July 4th falls on a Sunday the Monday is a holiday!

With only 7 days I wouldnt have a rest day!
we had a week 7 years ago and we did: Seaworld, MGM, Universal, MK and Epcot but now I would do the following if I had 7 days
Seaworld
MGM
Universal
Magic Kingdom
Epcot
IOA
Animal Kingdom
you would have to check out the chart for busiest days etc so i have not listed them in any particular order.
Just noticed that you didnt mention that you had tickets including seaworld so I would do another Disney park instead your favorite or a Universal one again or spend the spare day split into 2 places.
Hope this helps

Thanks for your advice, we're both big coaster junkies, so I guess universal and IOA will both need a full days, any ideas what times they'll be open on the 5th?

Here (http://www.usoinfo.com/Parkinfo/hours-april.htm) is a link to where the official park hours are but only show until April at the moment. So hopefully by late April they may have July's times up.
