hi there,
im frightened of rides as sometimes i get queezy and i am scared of heights...however, i went to alto towers a few weeks ago and i found myself getting curious!
what is the mummy ride is it a coaster? are there some bad bits in it?
im going US,IOA and Bush Gardens
which coasters go upsidedown? which i should avoid and which rides should i not miss out on i dont want to be scared as at Alton towers i found myself wanting to go on things throughout the day! ;)
Many thanks

The Mummy is an indoor coaster with special effects themed around the Mummy films. It doesn't go upside down at all but does have some speed and a few drops and a backwards section too. It is quite intense due to the special effects so maybe not one for little kids or easily scared big ones!
Most of the other coasters are outdoors and can be seen before you ride so you know what you are letting yourself in for. One exception is Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Disney Studios, it is indoors and in the dark and does go upside down but is a great ride with a very fast launch.
Youtube has a selection of ride videos which give a good idea of what it feels like to ride and the park guides tell you which rides are more intense.

The Mummy is a rollercoaster, but it's all indoors so you won't be able to see how high you are, but I don't think there are really any big drops in it anyway, but it doesn't go upside down. The coaster section is only about half of the ride, the rest is really well themed and some amazing effects, in my opinion it's a must do ride.
All the coasters at Busch are quite high and go upside down except Gwazi, which is the duelling wooden coasters.
If you want to try a coaster out to see if you can stand it, you could try rock 'n' rollercoaster at DHS, it goes upside down but it's in the dark so you probably won't be able to tell that well. If you can do that there's no reason why you wouldn't be able to do the other coasters.
I realise this is quite subjective but these are the rides I liked and didn't.
In comparison with alton towers - I love Air but hate Nemesis and Oblivion.
Loved - tower of terror, kraken, the mummy, mission space ( not really a ride),
Atlantis, Jurassic park, Splash and Thunder mountains,
Didn't particularly like Everest or Test track or dinosaur.
Hated - Space mountain, Gwazi, Montu wild artic - they were VERY rough.
I wimped out of Duelling dragons and Rocknroller so can't comment.

I'm not a roller coatster fan by any stretch of the imagination but went on the mummy with my 8yo son and thought it was fab. He loved it that much he went straight back on with my DH (we did a baby swap) and still came off smiling, so can't be that bad!!!
