I don't know if this would interest any of you but I was in Costco on the Orange Blossom Trail yesterday and they are selling 2 park unlimited access 3 month tickets for universal for $89 plus tax. If you are a UK Costco member you can use the Florida ones.

Costco currently have the Universal Preffered AP for $189 + tax that also gives you a free 3 months - not as good as the free Coke 6mths extra deal but that's only for FL residents

Publix have the Power AP Pass for $114

Anyone know of any better deals?

Yes Costco out there is worth a visit - if only for the fuel and yes you can buy the Universal tickets out there.
Its a good buy but they dont always have the 3 month ones.

Hi Folks

A few question on this really helpful thread!

Do costco and publix always carry the annual passes?
Is there anywhere on line i can purchase these in advance? As you might expect i have googled and found nothing!

Thanks

Not quite right. They take cash and supposedly debit cards although my Nationwide one didn't work so I don't know if other UK ones do. They don't take Mastercard or Visa credit cards but they do take American Express (and they issue their own Costco branded American Express cards too which is what might have confused you). I use my UK issued Amex cards with no problems. As to whether they take US$ travellers cheques - no idea.

And to answer Florida_Bear's question - yes UK Costco cards work fine, but you will need your card as they cannot access UK records to give you a temporary one if you forget it. (I found this out last August, but got around it by joining again as a US member to get around it giving my Marriott address in Orlando.)

I thought they didn't accept Mastercard or Visa. Perhaps the next person to visit there could confirm.

Well I can confirm in England at Gateshead warehouse where I live they def do not accept any form of credit card only debit card cheque or cash. So I don't know whether it's different in America?:confused2

You could join the Orlando one - you would need to use a US Address (your hotel/villa) and take your driving licence or passport as ID. There is an annual fee of $50 or so, but you will swiftly recoup this in savings.

Costco have always been brilliant for us, as an example we have a UK card, bought a robot vac in the states, bought it home and it broke, took it back to the manchester store and they refunded it, no questions, brilliant service.

Just one word of warning if you use the hotel / villa address - your renewal docs will also go there, as will any discount vouchers! They then get returned to costco as they cant be delivered in most cases and you may lose your costco account and if you have any problems with goods you then cant return them.

In the states they do take any Amex card (doesnt have to be a costco one), cash and any US debit cards. They dont take UK debit cards or visa / mastercard.

In the UK its just debit cards and cash, no Amex.
