I was also wondering this. Also do you need to give credit card details if you the booking doesn't require a deposit?

You only need to give CC details when booking certain meals (Fantasmic Dinner Package, Cinderellas Royal Table etc etc). It has to be a recognised card and I dont think they accept Maestro - although a Visa debit card should be fine. You need not leave any details for standard ADRs.

Personally I think the credit card thing is a bit of a ploy - I booked an FDP yesterday and had to give my mastercard number, name and address, being American the lady could barely understand my Eastenders accent :D and couldnt get it right - when she read it back I was killing myself, but just said "Ok yeah thats it" and it all supposedly went through - there is no way she had authorised the card (which expires before we even travel anyway, so they wouldnt be able to charge it). I think its done to deter you from being a no-show but there is no way they could get any money from my card with the address she took from me!!!

When we booked Universal tickets they couldn't understand us but they managed to bill my card because when the email confirmation came through my name and address were completely wrong but everything went through.
