Disney Resort Refillable Mugs???

Anyone return from Disney lately and have Disney Refillable Mugs?

I have heard that the refillable mugs are no longer resort specific...
I have heard that the mugs say something like A Year Of A Million Dreams..

I have also heard that since they are not resort specific, that people refill them at other resorts other than their home resort...

Anyone have a refillable mug lately?

Yes I believe they are all the Year of a million Dream style apart from Coranado Springs which still use there own themed mugs.

The water parks had their own themed mugs a few weeks ago. We didn't see any Year of a Million Dreams mugs.

We bought mugs at POFQ and used them for our stays at Wilderness Lodge and AKLodge no problems.... there was plenty of peopl eat all three resorts using OLD resort mugs (ie specific ones to the WL etc)... no one ever seemed to be pulled up for it.

You can use any of your previous Disney mugs, you don't have to purchase new ones. You can just buy the Bar Code sticker for $6.50 which will validate your mug. We've done this before. :wavey:

No, it's only available at water parks and Sea World. :wavey:

The official line from Disney is that a re-fillable mug is valid for the length of stay at the resort you purchased it from.

I think it's possible to use mugs that you've bought on previous visits at the resorts, there's been comments in the past that people have used the same mug for years and nobody has challenged them, but if you do this, you shouldn't be annoyed if anybody does pulls you for it. At the end of the day $12 is a bargain for a holidays worth of drinks.

We got our refillables at our resort (ASMo) but did not use them for any other resort. This was as much to do with having to cart them around with us. But we were definitely under the impressions that they could only be used for that resort.

Years ago each Disney resort had it's own design of mug and you could only use it at the specified resort. Also, these mugs were designed to "last for ever", so you could bring them back year after year.

It used to be a real pain for us resort hoppers!

(I have a HUGE collection of old mugs in the loft!)

These days, most Disney resorts have the same designed year-dated mug which I assume can be used in any resort for length of stay only. I don't know how they would tell if they came from another resort.

Some people still return with old non-expiry mugs and I've not seen much in the way of disney "mug police".

Technically no as they are only meant to be used for your length of stay, but as the mugs are all the same design this year i don't see how anyone would know!
We bought mugs from SSR in February and i'll admit we will be taking them back with us this month and in December! :blush: If we were staying at different Resorts and the mugs were all different designs i wouldn't do it, but as they are all the same i don't see the point in buying new ones!

In 2006 we bought two different sets of mugs as were staying at CR and AKL and they were different designs.

Last year we bought mugs at CBR and used them at the Poly when we stayed there as well.

What's the difference in the mugs from last year to this year?

We used mugs this year that we bought initially at POP and then used them at AKL and the the Boardwalk. All the mugs for sale in each resort were the same so nobody questioned it.
We had a Blizzard Beach mug from last year that we took. Threw it in the case at the last minute because there was plenty of room (space for all the shopping;)) and just bought new bar codes for it at both water parks.

Just checked the mugs we bought in February and they are exactly the same design as the ones Bonzo posted, but they don't have the year date on them! :wavey:

You can use your Typhoon Lagoon mugs again there or Blizzard beach if you buy a new barcode (approx $6) Or, if you go back on the same day of the week they will still work.

This thread has raised one of those "I've been meaning to ask that question for ages!" questions, iyswim ;)

We always buy the mugs for DS (I buy one for DD but very begrudgingly because she only drinks water!) but have always stayed at the same resort - this year we are hopping so I too was wondering the ability to take your mug from resort to resort.

Does anyone know if they do refillable mugs at Vero Beach?

You can only use the refillable mugs in the hotels! Apart from the waterparks (which you have to buy seperate mugs for) refillable mugs aren't available in any of the main Disney parks! :wavey:
