when on my pc I get this message every 20 mins or so, "a intrusion attempt was blocked" I have Norton anti virus on the pc.
Does anyone know how I can stop this happening and what in fact it is.
My worry is that it is something serious and the Anti virus may miss it as it is happening so frequently
One of the messages attached to the warning "MS ASN 1 Integar overflow Tcp.

The message means that Norton has stopped the intrusion :) No need to worry, its a good message !!

click the first link, for the symantec site. Read if you wish.

Go to windows update, make sure all security updates are installed.

Ultimately, how do you connect to the internet? which provider?
