Hi I've just joined today. We are a family with 3 boys and looking to book our very first holiday to Florida! I've only just managed to persuade hubby that this is the holiday for us as he was so opposed to Florida as his impression is nothing but theme parks and spending far too much cash! I know our kids will love it and I do hope there is more to Florida than theme parks? We are just at the very begining of our search so I will be asking alot of questions! Thinking more of Universal as our boys will be 13, 12, & 10 next year. Oh ,we were planning to go May half term for 2 weeks, what's the weather usually like then. Will 2 weeks not be too long as we can't afford to go to theme parks everyday? Oh I will be back with tons more questions.....see you all soon.....:grin:

Thanks for the fast welcome replies!! I don't know if this is the right place but I need to know all about how to get the cheapest, best value tickets and where you think we should go? Would def like to go to wet & wild. I am a complete novice! We do have a hotel in mind, The Fairfield inn by Marriot? Seems to have very good reviews and in a handy position as we don't want to hire a car, what are your thoughts on managing without a car or perhaps hiring one for our last 3 or 4 days to go to the beaches?:wave:

We've been in May several times, and have nearly always had brilliant weather, occasional rain/thunder but majority of the time lovely. I would definately reconsider hiring a car, I can't imagine not driving in Florida. A friend of mine has just come back and this is the first year they've had a car and she can't believe the difference it made to their holiday. It saved them money on taxi's and gave them much more freedom. Whatever you decide I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time !

Hello and welcome!! My husband said the first time he went I am not doing theme parks everyday and we dont we do them every other day but he still loves it! We shop, sit round the swimming pool and relax, go to water parks and drive to the beach and have loads of lovely meals out!!! Your hubbie will love it because there are loads to do this year we are going to try to go to the cinema and maybe an airboat ride if we can fit it in, enjoy what ever you do!!!!:wave:
