This seems a silly time to asking for anyone's views or experiences on this place but you have to book well in advance to ensure a booking for exactly when you want it.

My husband and I are renewing our wedding vows in 2010 and decided the only place to do it was our favourite holiday destination ever....Orlando. It holds such happy family memories for us, and the only holiday where the whole family have enjoyed everything we did, a hard thing considering we do all like different things.

So....we are returning with our 2 daughters, who will by them be aged 18 and 23, and another couple. We are hoping to stay at The Wyndam on I Drive, our favourite hotel, and this wedding chapel is not far away on I Drive. According to their site, they do vow renewals and limo hire, something we thought we might add to the day. We hope to end up celebrating at City Walk.

Anyway, anyone with first hand experience of this place would be gratefully appriciated, as we are having to look at putting in a booking and need maybe a second opinion, thank you.

I know several Dibbers have used it but I don't have first hand experience. If you want another option take a look at Cypress Grove Park. The setting is really beautiful. I have been a planner at 3 weddings there (helped 1 Dibber). You can get information on how to book from Crownline Weddings in the UK.

If I can be of any help here locally please get in touch via pm. I'm helping to Dibbers now with their weddings and would be happy to help you as well. Hopefully by the end of the year I will have something official in place but in the mean time I welcome the experience and certainly want to help Dibbers however I can.

Thank you both for the quick replies, and yes, i am lucky to have found someone with some romance in them...even after 25 years of marriage :d:

FLGirl-UKNow, I will certainly check out Cypress Grove Park, and thank you also for the offer of help...I will certainly be in touch if i need advice.

Even though its just a renewal of wedding vows, I want it to be as special as our wedding day, and since it was a November wedding in the UK...you can imagine the weather on the day, yep, rain, cold and fog....yuck !! So you can imagine im rather looking forward to some sunshine.

Awww renewal of vows are a great thing to celebrate and the fact that you are sharing it with your children makes it so special. Even if you go with a package and want some extras or add special details along the way I'm full of ideas.

Nickiemof2 married at Cypress Grove in May. I'm sure she'd be happy to share some photos or tell you about getting married in Orlando. They did a dinner at WDW afterwards and ended the day watching Wishes.

We are looking forward to it.

We fell into the routine of going to Orlando every couple of years and have been 5 times, and each time, even though the girls were growing up, we found that the whole holiday catered perfectly for us and them.

The only "problem" ( if you can call it that ), is that there will only be the 6 of us at our gathering. The rest of the family, like parents and siblings, are unable to come with us, but as you say, our daughters will be there, and they are our most important "guests"...and a couple of very good friends, who have only been to Orlando once before. So looking at somewhere that caterers for larger numbers is out. Thats why i looked at this chapel on I Drive, it seems to cater for the smaller wedding party and they will adapt their service to a vow renewal.

I think all im really worried about is that it isnt too "tacky", if you understand my meaning. because it is bang in the middle of a huge tourist area. Dont want to offend anyone who was married here, so thats why Im asking for a second opinion, to just put some positive thoughts in my head. It sure looks nice on their website.

I think it would be lovely ,I looked on there website, lots of lovely photos.I would nt think it tacky at all .As you say its the perfect place ,where as a family you made special memories to treasure.I too love Orlando for that same reason, and suggested us doing the renewing your vows .My DH,did nt understand why I thought it so special, the misery. It would be another special memory made in your happy place.......go on you know you want to..

.go on you know you want to..

Oh I DO want to...believe me...:d:

I cant believe the things you need to think of....its like getting married again...and yes, I would marry the same man again :inlove:

But its just making that booking final, isnt it. They are taking bookings up to December 2010, which is almost saying "you need to get booked", but we cant book the flights, accomodation and car hire just yet...but the dates must coincide.

Oh the stress....and to add to it all, ive now confused the old brain even more by looking at the private villa's on this site...and want to stay in them all...they look lovely ( having only ever done a hotel package holiday before ). Need someone to step in and do it all

We're thinking of renewing our marriage vows next year(well my DH is but I know I am:pgig:).We've also looked at the Royal Chapel and also the Chapel of Love...I know it sounds cheesy but it looks lovely.Like you we have 2 children who will be 13 and 15 and thought it would be a lovely thing to re-affirm with them present.By the way when I say 'we; I mean ME!Keep us posted as to what you decide on.As to how far in front you need to boow I would also be interested in knowing as we'll also have to compete with wedding ceremonies even though renewal of vows won't take quite as long.

Good luck with your plans too.

Vow renewal is becoming quite popular, lots of people seem to be doing it. And it is a nice idea, especially done somewhere that holds special memories.

So pleased to be involved in somewhere like here where you can share ideas and get advice and opinions, as although its a personal subject, you still like to get other people's ideas etc.

Let me know how you get on

Hi Judith, :wavey:

We got married at Cypress Grove in May and the setting was just fantastic and very beautiful. The ceremony was lovely and very easy to organise (although I did have help)! FLGIRL-UKNOW was so helpful to us in so many ways, she was amazing and always happy to help! We have become good friends through the Dibb and I am looking forward to seeing her again at christmas over here! Anything that you need just ask! If you would like to see any photos please PM me anytime and I can email them to you.

Good luck and happy planning!

Nickie

Thank you everyone for your replies and offers of help and advice.

I am going to spend some time looking round at the options, as we are now also thinking about looking into the whole "villa, flight, car hire" seperate idea rather than a package holiday which we have always done. I made the mistake of looking at some villa's on this site and realised how lovely they are and some great deals. We now need to check out all the flight options and car hire seperately.

Just want the whole thing to be extra special.

Hiya

We got married at The Royal Wedding Chapel in March, and it was perfect for us. I have to admit, its not in the most picturesque area, but that didn't really concern us too much. Inside is really pretty though and the staff really couldn't do enough for us and answered my endless emails with incredible kindess and patience.

All in all, we paid about $1600. That included 200 photographs on disc (100 colour then we upgraded to an additional 100 photojournalistic black and whites), 3 DVD's of the ceremony, 3 hours of limo hire, the chapel decorating in our colours, various photo reprints of differeing sizes along with a small album and I also could have 'borrowed' one of their silk bouquets, but I sorted out our own floral.

It really was a fantastic day... We didn't feel 'rushed' at all, and it was a perfect sized place for the 7 of us. If I had to do it all again, then I would choose exactly the same place with no hesitation

The Chapel also organises beach weddings on Cocoa Beach (I think the price starts around $300) and I really would of loved that. I was just a bit concerned about the weather in March (as it happened, we had some pretty cold days whilst we were there so i'm happy with my choice), but that could be a good option if you were going at the right time of year.

If there is anything specific you want to know or if you want to see any photos of the place, please feel free to PM me

Christina

xx
